@spelarnet The Blood Elves were originally the High Elves. They changed their name after Arthas destroyed the Sunwell and almost wiped them off the map, in memory of their fallen kin. They then joined the Horde due to the Alliance doing nothing, and Arthas was a human. Just as the Humans generalized the Orcs, the High Elves generalized Humans and the Alliance they led.

@RayKanen69 Correction. The Orcs was also wild warriors-ish bakc at Draenor before they were corrupted. They were still barbaric and brutal. The Demon blood only made them bloodthirsty, more barbaric and green.

Don't know if this is broken english or the ramblings of a mad man right here. But yes, they couldn't leave them in what is now known as the Outlands because of several reasons. First being the fact that The Alliance was still fighting remnants of The Horde, second being the portal was destroyed, third there was no way you could get all the orcs to go back there when their leadership was in shambles.

i think they mean that they have almost removed all the fun lore quest and stuff about old lore like they from vanilla. as Poopdahoop was saying dragons was rare and epic, today they where ever u turn u see a damn dragon. all the rare and epic feeling have been lost thanks by cata. and yes i understand they need to get new things in the game, but i use to love the lore when i was leveling before but now...i dont get the feeling when its just about horde vs ally and dragons flying around them :(

@edde7000 I never said they were the best, all i said was them over Khadgar. Also Rhonin is pretty boss, helping push back the burning legion in the war of the ancients and freeing Alexstrasza. Pretty cool, again i did not say they were the best. Like someone else said Aegewynn would probably be the best of all time.

"Orcs attacking humans" ... and that's returning. "Undead fighting knights" well the Sha seem to be treated like you would have treated the Scourge back in Vanilla, On those two, I'd say it's coming back to how it used to be in some aspects.

Is there not enough info on the alliance? I as because with your Horde historical facts you go all the way back to where the orcs founded the Horde on Draenor. It just seems there is not enough background info on the alliance during such events.

yeah, onyxia was epic cus u didt know who or what she was but doing all the quest that ended up in stormwind keep there she turn from her human form to her real form was EPIC! u staret u journey out in the wild to fight orcs and defend the alliance (only played alliance to wotlk came out) but u hade no ide that the enemies were among us :) so epic! now...they just throwing what ever they can think of on us and hoping its will work :/ not the same feeling :(

so the leader of the blood elves being sent to execution after being forced to work with vashj after garithos took all the good soldiers is not a good reason to leave the alliance? vashj offered him the demon solution for their addiction and he said i will never be that desperate but after they were sent to execution he left the alliance to go with vashj

Regardless of influence, the Orcs WERE bad guys previously and caused much death and destruction even on their own world (slaughtering the Draenei, who were on friendly terms with the Orcs before their corruption by Kil'jaeden). Currently the Orcs aren't villians, but many villians are Orcs (the Kor'kron).

Yes, they previously were bad guys (idk why you should disregard influence), but as you said, now they're not. They lived with the draenei in peace for many years without problems. As for some villains being Orcs, that will always be the case for any race. The Scarlet Crusade was composed mainly of humans, the Blackrock Dwarfs played a huge part as antagonists in early WoW, and if you want to consider the Draenei part of the Eredar... well let's not even go there.

Only Warsong orcs fell under the influence twice. They "belong" in Azeroth as much as the Draenei or any of the Titan-spawn races (including humans). The orcs had nothing to do with the forsaken plague, there was one mana bomb, and what genocide did they enact precisely? "Horde lore wise has always been... easily corruptible" Going by ally races: Orc internment camps. Lady Prestor. Medivh. Illidan. Arthas. Scarlet Crusade (there's your genocide). Dark Iron dwarves. Kel'Thuzad. Out of letters.

but only the leaders like nel zhull and Guldan were influenced by sargeras, the rest of the orcs were just vicious and followed the savage ideas of their leaders... of course there are always a few good ones like Thrall

So not stooping to a lower level means putting all the orcs you could in camps and killing the ones you could not catch. Also you tried to wipe out the horde and failed, you didn't choose to fail, you just failed.

The alliance didn't try to wipe out the horde... as you said in your first sentence, they put them in internemant camps designed by antonidas to sap the fury out of their race.. which was an act of mercy.. there was nothing evil in the fact that they were imprisoned in these camps. What do they orcs do when they break out? They go and live peacefully for a time in kalimdor, than Thrall go's hippy to save the world, and garrosh becomes warchief and once again.. betrays the alliances mercy..

I've been playing MMO's since Ultima Online: The Second Age, way back in 1998. I've been playing warcraft since Orcs&Humans, through II and Beyond the Dark Portal, III and Frozen Throne, and WoW and all it's expansions to date. It's not a "flavor of the month" for me, and I agree with HydrakBlitz's comment. Rose-tinted glasses tends to obscure the reality, Vanilla was sort of a overall pain in the ass compared to the modern WoW. OTHER genre's are suffering, but that's more due to publishers.

Horde has a „better" lore. It is more understandable and maybe a little sad in some point. When it comes to Alliance, I like the mysterious and epic atmosphere what it offers. When I play as a human, I feel like I have been corrupted or tortured by evil „minds". Like Arthas. The feel of darkness and corruption keeps me on edge all the time. I don't feel it when im playing Horde. (weird but true)
