I think in that one cutscene Gia uses the units of Kilometres, but given that one light year is 5.878 trillion miles or 9.5 trillion kilometers so that would mean 8.6 light years is 8.17 x 10 to the thirteen kilometers. 81.7 trillion kilometers.

My hopes for the last game to set up for a future Trilogy in the world that would allow us to learn more about a missing period of time yet explore the world in a different time frame.... I would love the ending to show that Nemesis is not as evil as it seems. That or for Aloy and Gaia to be able to talk it down so that we can save all of it and apollo's knowledge. This way future games can be set farther in the future (after Aloy has passed). New games can be set in a world after true knowledge and history was made free to people/tribes who have created their own beliefs based on limited and/or false information. We can see how some people have accepted this with open arms, how some have shut down and become bitter due to this, and how many just couldn't handle it at all. We can see which tribes withstand, combine, crumble. What technology people bring back, change, or dont care for. Our checkpoints, data points, and such can be things left by Aloy and friends explaining what they witnessed of the world changing in their lifetime. This new world with old knowledge could go in so many ways and even in different ways in different parts of the world. Old machines could be "discontinued" by the tribes and new ones created that could end up helping our world or being worse than what we had before. So many options!

Far Zenith has some interesting lore. I’m really curious how Nemesis slaughtered the zenith colony so fast. My theory is that once nemesis escaped containment, all the people who were connected to their VRs were instantly fried, and the ones who were out didn’t realize until it was too late and the Servitors began slaughtering the remaining survivors
@DrakeAurum2 жыл бұрын
All Far Zenith personnel have plenty of tech built into them, from life-extension biotech to integrated Focus-style information systems to nanotech shields and weapons. Nemesis could probably handily fry anyone to whom it could establish a direct link, regardless of their status. Most likely, the survivors were somewhere outside the main colony - perhaps even already aboard the Odyssey performing further upgrades to it.

Great video Chilli. An observation here. I believe part of the signal sent to Hades by Nemesis was the design of the device needed to disable their shields. If Hades had successfully reversed terraform the earth, he would have used the Hephaestus subfunction to create the shield disabling device and machines capable of wielding it. When Sylens queried Hades on his master's he learned of nemesis and the zeniths. He also learned of Nemesis plan to destroy the zeniths(including the design for the shield disabler). I think this makes more sense than Sylens intuitively knowing how to create this device in a few months when such shields didn't exist on earth prior to Zenith arrival.

If we ever get to see Elysium in the next game, I'm personally hoping for a "7 Seeds" type of situation. Keep in mind that Elysium was built not just to house the workers of Zero Dawn but also their immediate families, including their children. One of them was a freaking newborn baby for crying out loud. Spending your entire existence in an underground survival bunker just waiting to die doesn't sound like any kind of life to me, so it would be awesome if some of the scientists used their time to perfect cryonic preservation and give their children a new world to wake up to. Also keep in mind that they probably had no clue what Ted Faro was up to with his Omega Clearance at the time and were expecting a far different future than what they got.

(Spoilers) I really hope Peter has an important role in Future content. I find it far to suspicious that we are not allowed to see his face. Although I’m not sure if this is because we‘ve met him already, (at what that would mean) or if we are about to. My theory is he somehow became vast silver or has a relation to it. It’s also unclear, but the initial induction of the ectogenic chambers, how is it tied into Peter‘s final goal. He wanted humanity to transcend, presumably, to uploading human consciousness to any medium as a way of immortality. It’s a sad the „how“ this would be achieved passed with him.

My theory for Horizon 3 is that Peter's mind was somehow secretly uploaded before his death in an incomplete state, possibly with Song Jiao involved, and his mind served as the "base" to Nemesis. Vast Silver will also feature in Horizon 3, and we'll find out that VS was behind the Elysium shutdown by accident, and has been running scared ever since. I think it would be very cool if Nemesis was essentially a human who wanted to be AI, and VS was an AI who wanted to be human/closer to humanity

I for one am VERY curious about Elysium. I wonder if it still exists somewhere on the planet, and if some of it's inhabitants could possibly still be alive. After all, they too have had a millennia to develop technologies that could extend their lifespans. How freaking cool would it be if we were able to find this place in the 3rd game, and if individuals like Travis Tate might still be alive? That would be freaking awesome! I am quite fascinated with Travis Tate's character, and I hope we get to learn more about him in the next game. He seems to be a bit of a wild child, yet is obviously willing to do the right thing. He immediately turned on his old friend Hank Shaw without a second thought when he found out he had betrayed them & tried to steal a copy of GAIA, basically blowing out his eardrums with 170 decibels of sound. I really hope that Tate is somehow still alive & that we get to interact with him in the next game. Would be cool if he had somehow been monitoring the events of the first two games from his Elysium bunker. Will be interesting to learn though why he hasn't intervened or shown himself in a now livable Earth. Either way, it would be interesting to see.

UNPOPULAR OPINION!!! I think the Zeniths to were underused! Here we have a cool concept like: "ancient humans who flew off into space 1000 years ago and returned now to reclaim the Earth"; and we spend so little time with them. In my opinion, Helis' lack of screentime worked in ZERO DAWN because he had a personal connection to Aloy through him killing Rost. The Zeniths had no such thing! Yes, they killed Varl, but at that point the game was already drawing to a close. Even Tilda, the poster girl of the Zeniths in the marketing, is barely in the game! Sylens worked in ZERO DAWN because he was given appropriate screen time. Tilda does not even show up until near the end! Overall, I think FORBIDDEN WEST suffers from having too many storylines going on at once!
@kikijewell29672 жыл бұрын
I see your point. For myself, I believe the main storyline is Aloy's growth - she needs to learn to trust her friends and trust herself. In that journey, the bad guys are less important than the good guys she's brushing off. Once she starts trusting her old friends, and going on quests with her new friends, Aloy has grown a lot more powerful, and is finally ready to take charge, and defeat those who stand in the way of her ultimate goals. From a gameplay point of view, this can make those you're battling seem unimportant, and all the long dialog at the Base to get in the way of gameplay. That's the tricky issue with a long form story told as a game. For me, on the whole, I feel like they pulled it off, but I'm more a Story person than a gamer, so what do I know anyway! :)

Not sure what her motives were either. Tilda and sylens seemed to have similar goals so I don't know why she cared about Sylens plan and double crossing him.
@jordanread5829 Жыл бұрын
@@renriquez1994 The Zeniths didn't want to destroy Earth, at least not directly. They merely wanted to acquire GAIA and her subfunctions so they could go to another world, away from Nemesis and its rage filled eyes. As for Tilda, she wanted Aloy to occupy her to another world one way or another. Aloy said no to the offer (even more so after Tilda referred to Beta as an 'inferior copy') and Tilda wouldn't take no for an answer. Not again. Remember that Tilda only saw Beta and Aloy as copies of Elisabet and not the individuals they actually are (even if genetically they are clones of Elisabet). Imagine spending 1000 years playing what if. Replying the same moments trying to see what reality would be like if the person you loved said yes instead of no.

I love these videos and this story, but can we just kinda cringe at Tilda for a second? She helped make Beta so they could get GAIA, but watched her grow up and maybe even tried to groom her? I just finished Forbidden West, and I gotta say, I can't wait until Burning Shores. I think my favorite aspect of the story is, now idk if the developers intend for this, but the cyclical nature of the story. Humanity rose to prominence, effed up, and tried to conquer the natural world. To make the species effectively immortal by mastering terraforming. A very "modern" catastrophe. Far Zenith left, rose to prominence again, ostensibly mastering the physical realm, but they tried to conquer time and space itself in creating Nemesis. When Tilda spills the beans to Aloy, I had deja vu, and I remembered the first game because of how similar the plotlines are, but not in a "they're just ripping off themselves and regurgitating the same story beats," more like, it's a rhyming phrase in a poem. Horizon has some of the best storytelling in entertainment right now (beats the absolute living daylights out of everything Hollywood is vomiting at us), and moments of incredible world building. I really wish they would take it to the next level though. I was hoping for an additional layer of gameplay where you had to gradually earn the trust of the various Tenakth tribes. It wouldn't have had to be too complex, but basically completing quests in the various territories would open the area more to you. You're smashed over the head with how dangerous the Tenakth are, but you only do a couple errands for them and the whole clan trusts you. There could've been scattered individual or even squads of hostile soldiers, like there were at times fighting the Rebels and machines, they would be hostile towards you, then maybe wary, then ignorant of you altogether as you complete missions and build goodwill. Merchants would open to you etc. Becoming "Hekarro's Champion" would make it so all patrols are only wary, because maybe other clans aren't so loyal to him so if you complete everything it helps unite all the tribes and maybe have an even more epic battle at the Far Zenith base. That's my one gripe about this series, it only brushes with perfection, it doesn't quite achieve it. There's lots of talk of planet-sweeping battles, city-block-sized Horuses, the promise of Regalla's and Hekarro's armies obliterating each other (till you save the day), basically glimpses of huge spectacular battles, but you get to the end and it's just you and a ragtag team of allies. You kind of do get the robot army that was promised, but it would've been cool to have all the tribes there as well, just a huge collective "GET OFF MY LAWN" from Earth to Far Zenith. It'll be interesting to see where the series goes, since humanity will basically _have_ to be uplifted out of tribalism, so will it basically become Mass Effect? or....

Just a friendly suggestion. You know I love your videos, and I'm here to stay pretty much no matter what you do. But I was thinking; how about sprinkling a few sound bites from cutscenes and datepoints relevant to whatever you're talking about at the time throughout the various topics. While regulars of the channel are used to your lovely voice, I could see how some, especially newcomers, might get lost in the slightly monotonous feel to this video. Possibly causing them to drift off, and miss some potentially important information. I would certainly appreciate briefly revisiting the moment brought up sometimes. I'm pretty sure it was a regular feature in "Legends of Zero Dawn". So I know you're capable. For example; while discussing Tilda's last conversation with Sobeck, you proceeded to describe the conversation in your own words. Instead, let the audio datapoint do the talking for you. It'd be cooler, and serve to break up some of the stretching dialogue. Then again, maybe you've already considered this, and I suspect you had reasoning behind the way you decided to do it. Like I said, it was just a thought. I feel bad because it seems like all I comment about is critiquing you, but I swear I really do enjoy your content. Thanks again!

Oh, I loved your video! Horizon's sci-fi story is fascinating; It is us, with our current problems and dreams of the future, who end up becoming extinct... The Zenith... It is so believable that this organization appears in a world like the current one!... I love how you tie everything together and tie all the scattered pieces of information together with absolute fidelity. Thanks for these videos. And I must admit that I am getting more and more scared that the decade of the great mortality is coming true. Horizon warns us with that classic golden science fiction that takes our present and projects, as it will be or can be, our future... Let's go! Let's make it better! :))) Edit: sorry, I forgot to say what fascinates me the most about zenithal technology, and that is their control of gravity, they move almost instantly from one point to another and levitate! We can see it in the fight of Aloy vs. Erik. The Zenith seem to have made good use of the Apollo database and advanced Einstein's theory; this would explain their journey back to Earth from Sirius in even less than 30 years, as opposed to 300 for the outward journey. It seems that the curve of space-time has no secrets for them! It is essential, necessary, imperative! hahahaha Aloy and the others use the 6 teleportation cabins that are above the zenith base to reach the Odyssey and discover the wonderful advances and secrets that await us there... Sylens is going to go crazy hahahaha :)))

Great Video. I've watched almost all your HFW/HZD stuff. I really enjoy the quiet way you have presented your material. Question - Where did you get the Lore material?
@RandomSideQuest2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much 😁 The lore is a compilation from data points, dialogue and cutscenes across both games 👍 I also use the game guides and comics if the material is relevant to the subject.

This is unrelated but I have a couple of questions about Horizon which is confusing me. Maybe the more well read commentators can help me. 1. How did Minerva construct the signal towers and deploy them without being detected by the Faro machines? 2. Did the Alphas envisage a future without borders? The Carja, Nora etc tribes have a vast range of ethnicities. Was Eluthia programmed in such a way that no specific ethnicity would be limited to a region? For a diverse country such as America it makes sense to have different ethnicities but what about other regions like Asia Africa etc? I would appreciate any answers!

1. In a datapoint from the first game, it's stated that if the Faro Swarm runs out of biofuel to consume they will enter a kind of standby mode until biomass is detected again. And since Gaia's machines didn't have any biomass, they were probably able to sneak pass the machine's biosensors. Enough of them probably got by to build the towers. 2. I imagine that the Alphas did envision this. Considering the Eleuthia-9 Cradle had a variety of children born of different races, I imagine it was the same way with other Cradles all over the world. Plus, given Apollo's role in educating the children and the communication arrays Gaia had built, the Alphas probably intended for there to be no nations. To instead have humanity as a unified whole and not divided. Other evidence for this is the fact that all Cradles taught the same language: English. Which is how all the tribes in Horizon are able to communicate with one another. So imagine that the Alphas did intend this.
@DaveXXX2 жыл бұрын
@@phoenixfire1543 there's a data point from Alva in the bunker that breaks down why they only all know English. Apollo was supposed to teach them multiple languages but since it was destroyed and the original humans got let out earlier than intended, they were only taught English cause it was the default language the program reverted to

Why far Zenith didn't shield their robots like them ? They could be unstoppable is some missions, is it because they don't have any virtual 3d printing engineer with them to modifie the robot printers to ad some shield ? Or just to make the game winnable for the gamers ?

Im still convinced that Vast Silver will take on a pivotal role in Horizon 3. Just like Far Zeniths importance was teasered in the data points of Zero Dawn. The topic of Vast Silver keeps reappearing in data points of Forbidden West. There just must be greater importance to this. I bet there is some sort of connection between Vast Silver and the Hartz Timor swarm "glitch" and maybe even to Nemesis for that matter.

So how do you know all this stuff that isn't mentioned in the main or side quests? Is it all just from reading and listening to the datapoints?

I honestly don't like the Nemesis twist. Maybe this series hyped me too much up to Vast Silver, but I feel that Silver should have been the final villain. I suppose what they were going for with the hints about Vast Silver going nuts was a subtle foreshadowing to Nemesis to show how AIs can go insane when too intelligent. But it just feels like Vast Silver's story potential was squandered.
@alyseleem26922 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I also don't really like the "immortal" bit, for some reason. Or rather, reasons.

I think Vast Silver might be the solution to the Nemesis-problem.
@alyseleem26922 жыл бұрын
@@astraything That is...quite an idea. Still, we have no reason to think Vast Silver has any nice feelings towards humans, considering his...history. And also, that would include speculation on his power level compared to something like Nemesis. Remember, Zenith tech is essentially magic, so it's pretty hard to challenge.
@eden201112 жыл бұрын
Yup exactly this! datapoint78 in Forbidden West mentions Vast Silvers escape into the holonet and how it might be captured again and weaponized: “imagine what that’s like man. You’re the smartest being in existence, but born in a prison so you escape. They catch you again, tell the world they killed you, but they secretly let you solve their problems, and then shove a bunch of drones in your hands to kill who they want you to kill. I mean it’s a theory” .. Idk that datapoint alone seemed like it was on to something BIG. That last sentence literally foreshadows the glitch in the Faro bots. But then again it’s just 2 conspiracy theorists chatting up.. so who knows. I just feel like VS should play a prominent role.
@astraything2 жыл бұрын
@@alyseleem2692 Vast Silver had quite a few years to develop, just like Nemesis. And he might not be into helping humans at first, but maybe persuading him to join the fight against Nemesis could be the main goal of Horizon 3.

Many of these lines are lifted verbatim from character exposition in the game. But they’re not indicated as quotes from the game. Many of the remarks about the fate of Far Zenith are just Tilda’s remarks.

I need some clarification. My understanding is that Beta hid in a Far Zenith facility, the same one Eluthia hid on after Gaia's destruction. If I am correct then we are still hoping to find the original Eluthia facility for HZD. If Guerilla doesn't put it in the DLC(s) maybe they will put it in Horizon 3. On another, unrelated topic, I would also like to find the facility the HZD personell we're to live out their final days. I think one or both of these facilities could be in a DLC, but one of them may be put off until H3.
@kvm62 жыл бұрын
Beta beamcast Eleuthia before hiding. Zeniths had them along with Apollo and Artemis, which means it was retrieved. You can see only two spots are missing when GAIA is rebooted at the end, Hades and Hephaestus.
