I really got sooooo much out of your older lore video’s!! They introduced me back into Tolkien’s world, and the rest of the “Tolkien tube community” here on KZbin. They are some of the best! I learned so much, and watched them countless times. So thank you!!!! I’m all in! And it’s a wonderful place to be as our own world can be unescapable.

Fantastic, I love your Lore videos. You have a great knowledge and poetic voice. If your rethinking of redoing some other topics or histories , Your stories of the Nasgul are amazing (as all your lore Videos), your Nasgul stories could be sold as an Audiobook.

Excellent video! Though I have read much of Sauron's history before, there is still a joy in listening to the full story told in a way most reminicent of folklore hisories around the campfire. That is a compliment in every way, as I can think of few other situations which inspire the same level of immersion. I am also very curious to where the details surrrounding Ar-Pharazon's demise lay, for I cannot remember the details when reading the Silmarillion or The Book of Lost tales. This might be because these details alluded me though. Anyway, excellent view and understanding of the lore!

Incredible video, I'd call this an almost poetic retelling of Sauron's story. One thing that occurred to me during the video; Sauron was the most gifted student of Aule, perhaps this could have been another reason for his fall to Melkor? Whilst Sauron was most skilled in craft, Melkor was skilled in destruction. I can DEFINITELY imagine Sauron seeing Melkor's destruction as a means to an end, so Sauron may eventually craft his own arts and structures, according to his own will. Which is, of course, what he does later on down the line. Never heard this mentioned before so thought it may be worth putting out there :) Thank you for these incredible lore videos, you are by far my favourite lore dude!

Superbly told, *Arachîr Galudirithon!* I do believe that Sauron is the only being in the whole legendarium who Tolkien provides with an active and prominent narrative from before the beginning of Arda and then throughout the Ages until the Fourth Age, albeit with some gaps during the First, Second and Third Ages although even those gaps were in a certain sense still 'active' in that he was essentially either hiding, brooding, rebuilding or getting up to some covert mischief. Morgoth occupies the "evil incarnate" role up until the end of the First Age and Sauron eventually takes up that role to the end of the Third Age. It's also worth noting that Sauron doesn't appear to have actually spent any time in Valinor. I don't think I've heard any speculation about what exactly might've happened if Sauron had regained the Ring. Would the Valar or Eru Ilúvatar simply abandon Middle Earth to its fate under Sauron's reign of evil? Would or could an all-powerful Ring-wielding Sauron eventually find a way to launch a succesful attack on Valinor? Sauron must surely count as probably the greatest villain in all of Western mythology.

He did spend time in Valinnor, learning from Aulë of all things crafted by hand

My suspicion is that he learned from Aulë prior to entering the world or maybe during the Valar's residence on Almaren.

I actually respect sauron more than morgoth for yes, morgoth was vaslty more powerful, he was cowardly. Sauron at least enganged in combat without fear often and he was a lot smarter than morgoth in terms of strategy. His motives were also, whilst deranged, were at least in his mind for the greater good. He wanted to bring order to the world but eventually that became domination. He reminds me of doctor doom, who sees himself as the only one capable of properly ruling the planet and would enforce that rule onto everybody wether they like it or not because he and he alone knows whats best. Sort of like thanos to.

Hey Galu out of curiosity have you checked out the channel Tolkien Untangled? He does Lore videos on mainly the first age, but focused more on telling stories then history. For example he just did a 11 video series on the story of Berin and Luthien. It is amazing high quality. Its such a different approach to the Lore then yours in the same way that reading the lord of the rings compared to watching the movies is totally different, both great in their own ways.

My question is are there no more dark lords left? After saurons defeat are there no longer orcs and such to threaten middle earth in any serious way? So now the rest of the third age is just men dwarf and small remnants of elves and of course the easterlings and so forth? Or is it possible sauron could return somehow or some other dark lord? This made more sense in my brain haha

There aren't any dark Lords but humanity loves war. War is inevitable.
