I am actually getting invested in this run. The map layout is so gorgeous

I'm really enjoying these scenarios. I'm definitely going to try out this mod combo myself! Honestly surprised you don't have more subscribers, you've got an interesting approach to base-building and have really good commentary. Definitely gonna stick around for future episodes ^^

I always have a pawn who uses beer as a sidearm. It's amusing until it gets them killed XD

I recall the first successful run I had in Rimworld was started with a wood built base, I had sent out all but one of my colonists on a quest which had them caravaning and the one I left behind couldn't fight. So while we were out I got attacked by a single colonist or something but my guy who wouldn't fight ended up just hiding, the attacker destroyed some stuff then started several fires and left... and then I returned to a decimated base. I no longer build bases with wood, OK, I do still build inside doors with wood and garden fences with wood. But as I look at your wooden base I recall my start from a few years back. So I look forward to seeing how this run goes for you, but I am already worried. Normally I build floors with stone now but in my current game I'm playing Kijin and they love Tatami floors which are NOT fireproof and built with hay. OH, and a mortar shell started a huge fire in my storage room :( and I just walked away as I could not get that fire under control, but now I have fire foam poppers in place so it should not happen again I hope :)

My first ever run I had a proto-mountain base and was moving everything underground to make room for crops and a second turbine. Of my four colonists, I sent two with our alpacas to deliver stuff for a quest. Two days there, two days back. Two armed colonists left behind to defend the place. Barricades out front and a walled-off cave and set of half-finished bedrooms to retreat into. A cave walled off with wood. And floored with wood. And acting as my main stockpile. The caravan was half a day from their destination when I had my first Bzzt. A wall caught fire, but I expected this thanks to KZbin. I set my two colonists on it at once! And that’s the story of how I found out half of my colony was incapable of firefighting and my first base got gutted.

5:28 medival Rimworld has no terraforming options? Unexpected.
@pretzelbomb61053 жыл бұрын
Well duh! When did people during and prior to medieval times ever engage in advanced terrain modification? They were completely incapable of damming rivers, building complex irrigation systems, or creating massive rubble bridges over deep water capable of supporting siege engines to assault Tyre. We’re going for REALISM here.
@hadir-l4h3 жыл бұрын
@@pretzelbomb6105 They could at least dig the soil to reach bedrock. That's something. I hope some modder finds inspiration and create a medival terraforming variant.

Hey Lore, fire pits don't emit light because , think ember pit instead, lots of heat and radiant energy and wood coals , so it is a bit misnomer as a fire pit
@surgonan4 жыл бұрын
Very true. Fires built for light don't do well for cooking because you would char the outside of whatever you are cooking.

As I listen to these while I play the game, it's so alarming hearing the edit cuts with the music. Not a complaint, so much as it is an observation.

Your aware if you built your fire pit on a stone rock surface you won't get issues with cleanliness area. Now let me be honest its a specific stone I believe but I forget the details. I know you probably know far more than me so I am not sure why I am posting anyway :) but just saying that some choices are better than others.
