Humans have never let go of folklore designed to help us find things, even if it seems like it’s from another time, long ago. But in stories about our search for things, it’s possibly to find something a lot more thrilling.
Written and produced by Aaron Mahnke, with research by Sam Alberty.

I'm so addicted to your podcast, my man!!! I'm currently on my third time listening through the Lore podcast series. If your ever up for taking ideas from listeners, I'd like to someday hear about the craziest lore of my home state kansas. Thank you for keeping me from going brain dead at work everyday and helping me learn about some of my favorite subjects and people. (Mary Todd at the spirit photography is one of the most mind blowing stories I've heard)

Hi Aaron, I started listening to your podcasts after I watched Lore on Amazon Prime. Since then I have hardly watched anything on TV or OTT. listening to you is a totally different experience. I just close my eyes and travel back in time. I was very scared for first few episodes but later I got used to it !!! 🙂

Hi, Aaron! I came here from the podcast after hearing that there's a KZbin channel for Lore! I like how this isn't a one take wonder, and there are cuts in between lines. With just listening and no visuals, it sounds like it's all one take, which I have always found to be so perfect that it makes podcasting look extremely hard. Seeing the takes like this reminds me that the people behind podcasts are still just people too 💜🙏 Thanks for making Lore, Aaron! 💕👏✨

5:35 in the movie Caroline, the main character uses a dousing rod in the beginning. 7:42 again, in the movie, Caroline uses a “peeping stone” with a hole in it to find lost things, or in this case the lost souls(balls) of the children she has to save.
