Oh my goodness! Finally I got my Slow Fashion "Friday" video uploaded. We were in Penn State for the weekend and b/c of the White Out Game (110K in attendance) WIFI was beyond slow and in over 72 hours I never managed to have a strong enough signal to upload. So I am back home and here it is! What have you decluttered this week? I hope you are all doing well on your journey! It's good to be home!

Doing a kitchen renovation so whole kitchen has been decluttered. Found a lot of things I never use, odd glasses, bake wear etc. so it all got donated. Feels great to know what I have and where it’s located!

My whole house is being decluttered. Starting small spaces first like linen closet, then small powder room, I’m currently working on the kitchen. This is 25 years plus worth of accumulations and three kids worth of childhood mementos and so much stuff. Feels good but absolutely tiring and overwhelming at times. Thank you so much for being the catalyst.

Yay I love these long declutters! Maybe you can just box up everything that was left on display of Anthony's and he can declutter it when he's back, that way you aren't trying to blend your usable things in with old kid stuff :)

We sold our family home last year and moved. We didn't downsize, just wanted out in the country more. We have two grown children and their rooms were still full of their belongings. I boxed them up and took them to their respective homes. My son was very receptive to receiving his items and will probably keep them. My daughter just does not associate memories with items and will probably throw it away. I had a huge packet of their school art work and later papers and projects they had done. The outfit they came home from the hospital it, baby blankets, toys, so so much. I told my daughter what she does is fine, I however, could not throw anything away in the boxes. We do have 3 grandkids and they have their own room at our new house with toys and books so you probably should have saved some of the books!! ;)

After starting on Poshmark a few months ago, I realized the majority of my bins finds were not worth listing. I sold quite a bit at my sister’s garage sale this past weekend. Being able to recoup some of that money helped me realign and rethink. This garage sale came on the heels of donating 7 garbage bags of clothing donated to me by friends and family. Sooooo it all felt GREAT to purge to say the least. This all HAD to be done to make space and to define what I want my Posh closet to represent. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all. Your Slow Fashion Friday series is a big hit - enjoyed by so many ! 🩷💚

You seriously have inspired me so much and everyday I think of things you have said and continue my own journey as a mom and reseller and how decluttering is making me feel so good and allowing me more space as well as space in my head, also the more i declutter the more organizedi get . The clutter just weighs me down! Thank you so much for the refreshing content!! Hope your mouth feels better!!!

I'm sure it brings you joy and happiness though so you do not need to justify having a hobby. I have a ton of hobbies and I would rather have hobbies than sit and watch netflix all day everyday! You are doing wonderful with your purging and listing!!!!

Watching these videos have motivated me to start going through my house and getting rid of clutter. I can relate to "diving' into new interests, hobbies, etc. When I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, I dove into scrapbooking. I remember back in the day when it was so popular, there were so many shows on QVC. I would watch them all the time and bought stuff all the time,,,I couldn't get enough , lol I did complete alot of scrapbooks which I cherish so much, but I did buy way more than what I used. I have so many magazines, books, kits, etc. Then scrapbooking was put aside as I got busier through the years, then I started with the planners... then the flood gates opened with buying planner stuff. Then I got into selling stuff on Poshmark part-time. So here we are. :)

Hey Lori! Keep up the great work! I know it's a lot but you are doing so well. I am very proud of you. I have found for myself, once I got the first really big whole house declutter done, it's easier for me to stay on top of it when I stay in the habit of at least going through the whole house again each season change. I may not donate or resell anything each season, but at least I am reminded of what we have and keep it to a manageable amount. Hope this helps. Keep up that great work and feel better!!

I would sell the Mont Blanc pen. Great find and would be an excellent flip. It appears you have greater attachments to several other pens you have, so maybe you can part with this and be happy with the profit. One suggestion on purchasing new pens, when I see a new pen I like I wait a month before purchasing to see if I still want it.

I had the same thing happen when I got my wisdom teeth out. My dentist went in with what I think were tile nippers and clipped off the bone that was poking through! I had an obsession with PenGems pens. I now have them listed on Posh and Mercado, hoping someone will want an instant collection. Also lots of stickers from planning, which I stopped. After having to go through both my parents stuff and my Mother in laws things, I don’t want to burden my kids with my stuff.

What is with the bones poking out!? I just didn't see this coming so it really has caught me off-guard. I'm hoping by next week I'll feel better. I hope you sell your pen collection. I always have my kids in mind when I'm sorting through things since I started this journey. Thanks for sharing!

Use the bags from Japan in your packaging of the Traveler's items you are selling. It would be a cool touch, even though they might not be from the same store. Thanks for sharing! I too go through phases of collecting all the things around a specific trend or past time. Be glad that pens don't take up as much room as sewing...lol

From a fellow stationery-aholic, if you really like your brass Traveler's pen you may want to check JetPens. I believe you can get a refill of another kind of pen for that pen - Gel, Rollerball.... I want to say it takes a Parker refill but I don't own one personally so I may be mis-remembering. Otherwise TokyoPen may be able to help too. You had better control over your buying in Japan than I suspect I would be able to I think you're moving in the right direction by making room for things that give you joy and letting go of things that no longer serve you. Feel Better.

Lori, you are doing amazing in your declutter and minimalism journey. It is a process. Give yourself some grace. It is awesome that you identified your inclination to collect. I can't say loud enough how awesome that was to hear. I am the same exact way. The container method may be the perfect mindset for you with your new pen collection. The container sets the boundary of how many pens can be in your collection. (my issue has always been the buying of more containers). Have you figured out your organizing style? Clutterbug style? Her way of organizing goes hand in hand with Dawn's (Minimal Mom- who you mentioned you are following) style of decluttering. You are doing a great job. I am enjoying coming along on your declutter journey. Minimalism and reselling is a crazy combo. I am minimalist in my personal space, yet add clutter to my life to resell. I have never identified more with one of my KZbin 'friends'.

I bought my daughter her first AG doll for her kindergarten graduation in 1991 before they were bought by Mattel. Her name is Samantha so of course she wanted Samantha. A couple of years later she picked out one of the dolls where you could pick the hair color, skin color, and eye color. I bought myself a Molly. We have lots of outfits. I do not have any granddaughters so they are still here in my home.

Is it possible some of the pen collection stuff now is about your kids leaving ? Empty nest syndrome ? We are the exact same age and I found myself and several of my friends started “ collecting “ more things …not sure if it was about the emptiness of my kids going away or the going through the beginnings of menopause. I recognized it was a little out of hand and started therapy .

Please Don’t discard the japanese material. Instead of using wrapping paper , all you have to do is tie your gift in the material and tie in the middle. Its the traditional way . Normally something round , or square. Some times they put a cake in a box and tie it in their. In Malaysia we use sarong batek. Back in the old days people did-not have wrapping paper and tape
