Lori, I've been watching your channel regularly for a long time but I don't think I've ever commented. I've been reselling for about 4 years, mostly just as supplemental income. I cannot even imagine how much work goes into doing this for an actualy livable income. Those folks are younger and more energetic than me!! Anyway, I just want to say you've been an inspiration to me because of your upbeat attitude and enthusiasm, even through the difficulties like losing your dad. Life just constantly changes, and that's the one thing that doesn't change. We can only adapt as best we can, and that looks different for everyone. I suffered from burn out over summer slow down and gave myself Grace. For the month of July, I did not list or share my closet. If a sale came through, I shipped. I had to regroup and figure out how I could make this work bc my family needs this income. Now I sell online, consign, and use buy sell trade stores for old inventory. Thank you for being transparent. I use videos like yours for education and motivation. Thank you for being you😊.

I too bought that same Gunne Sax dress for $3.50 and sold it for $800 as a direct sale in a Facebook group ( no fees). It’s what started the reselling fever.

I love your channel! Love hearing your answers. I do accept returns on ebay and I'd say my return rate is maybe about the same 2%. Some months go by with nothing then I'll get 1 or 2. I don't offer free returns and note that. I feel ebay has surpassed posh for me. Keep doing what your doing!

Act as if you are going to have a “moving” sale and let go of things you don’t want to take with you per se. then when you fix up the basement, you’ll have a new space to motivate you and sell, sell, sell. Good luck!

I have noticed that Coach has made a serious comeback. I don’t know where that came from but they’re selling by the minute. That’s all people are asking for vintage everything especially in Live Shows

Belated congrats on your anniversary! I love the Homeschooling Picker's content and in particular the updated format where they show still shot of their shopping and post what it sold for. Its a fantastic way to wrap up a shopping video, I mean I always watch until the end. Plus they make me kinda sorry that I mainly sell clothing when their variety looks way more interesting. The only downside is that KZbin thinks I'm interested in the topic of "homeschooling" when, in fact, my kids are like 40. Lol.

I love homeschooling picker and part time picker. They are so fun! I think if I solely sold on Poshmark I would’ve gave up long ago! I don’t know how people survive on that app alone. I think one thing that makes me love reselling is Depop. I love looking for things that Gen Z will love. My niece lets me know what the girlies are into and I love thrifting stuff specifically for that app. eBay is still my number one app for sure.

I live in CT and my basement got flooded as well. Hope things are going okay on your end. Also I wanted to say how refreshing this video was. And touché I’m such an emotional seller and shopper I’m trying not to be so attached to my items. I plan on doing a huge clear out at the end of the year 🙂

Lori, starting watching you when I started out in the resell adventure. Unfortunately, I was a fail but love your channel so much I keep watching! You have excellent taste, being from MA. I love your local finds & travel ideas. Your best advice I came away with was to sell what you have already. As always, great video! Thanks for sharing. I too, followed Jena in the beginning of my reselling journey. I found you when she abruptly stopped KZbin. (I’m hopeful she’s healthy and happy.) I’ve watched you branch out onto other platforms. It’s just not my nature to do live selling at all, however I’m debating on cross Listing to some other platforms. I sell on eBay and offer free returns. My rate of returns is less than 1%. In 2024 (Jan-July) I had two returns from 800+ sales. You are correct that it is all about detailed descriptions, total transparency and clear images. I will also say that as a reseller I tend to side with the buyer if there is ever an issue. I would always prefer to just give a full refund and let them keep the item rather than risk a bad experience or have a negative review. On Poshmark, I have only had 4 cases in 6 years and I won all of them but again, unless it is a very pricey item, I would prefer the customer keep, discard or donate rather than process an item back into inventory.

Lori, I personally purchase much less on Poshmark since the shipping has went up so much. It is hard to justify the additional $7.50 on some items unless they are a great deal. Perhaps that is impacting your business as well???

RE: returns. Only had one thus far. However, it was a pleated silk Tahari work blouse very sheer/light. returned in the same packaging - but it looked like a dogs scruffy chew toy..... or maybe a rung out dish cloth. Petitioned eBay who recouped the cost of dry cleaning as the item couldn't be sold in that condition. Worst of all, her return reason was "too short" despite the ample measurements and photographs to illustrate size and dimension. Changed my returns policy asap. so frustrating when items I source are treated like this. Good learning curve for me,

I used to accept free returns on eBay, but then I found I started getting more returns and I had to pay for the shipping. So now I accept returns because even if you say you don’t accept returns and somebody tries to if they makes you, but they’re not free. The buyer has to pay the shipping and I don’t get any returns now.

I sell on EBay. But on a small scale. I do accept returns. I’ve found that having developed a 100% approval rating, and being as kind and communicative and fair as I can be…Ebay intervenes when the scammers attempt to get a free item. It is a very small percentage of people who truly attempt to be dishonest and deceptive. Ebay has actually offered free return shipping to one person on my behalf whose only complaint was the shade of a YSL tie I sold him. I feel like your reputation will protect you to a great degree.

Great video thank you. I have a question because I’m in the process of figuring this out for myself . So you have your LLC for Poshmark eBay (reselling ) right ? When you started KZbin about reselling and submitted paperwork did you start another LLC or use the same one and just pool it together as an extension of that same LLC ? On eBay I accept returns but the buyer pays return shipping. I have found this has weeded out a lot of returns if the buyer has some "skin" in the game. I did free returns for 1 month and it was too much.

Ebay will make you accept returns even if you have/say no returns. I probably have had 7 in the last 3 years. 1 was a lie, 2 was the post office and wasn't worth me fighting over, 3 on me and 1 on them.

Poshmark is not available for purchases outside the US (even if you are planning to send it to a US address) so it is a limitation for international buyers

I've been offering free returns since I started selling clothes back in March. I'm not a big time seller, but I've been getting about 2 sales a day, sometimes more. For example, I had 2 no sales days last week then I had 7 sales over the weekend so it balances out. Anyway, I hadn't had any returns until last week and I got 2 🙄🙄 It was 2 of the cheapest damn sales, too, so they weren't even worth it. Lol 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Relisting them still won't get me profit so I hope they get lost in the mail. 😂😂😂🥹 It's frustrating. Oh well.

Your videos are well-done. Just be you and create the videos you enjoy creating. I watch H@H, but I don't love her videos. Personally, I don't like the editing. I think you've already changed your thrifting habits by being more selective in your purchases. At this point, KZbin will probably continue to out perform your online sales. That's very positive. When you do your liquidation, why not liquidate on ebay? Promotions are very effective on ebay. I've had my highest sales all year this summer on ebay. Poshmark has been just o.k. We could all tell you what we enjoy and like to see, but I really think you need to create what you enjoy doing; otherwise, it just wont be any fun. Isn't it time for another thrifting adventure with Kim?
