I feel like Lorn somehow invented a machine that allows ghosts and other supernatural entities to approach and pass through it. The machine assess their overall vibe, their intentions and mood and the beings can even whisper or speak into the machine. The machine then processes all of this and then it pours out on the other side, our side, as this amazing auditory phenomenon that allows you to barely feel what they feel, for part of you to go where they are or where they've been. I know this is all very hippy dippy and such but I really can't understand how their music makes me see and feel what it does.

Lorn's music is so oddly beautiful. The Tones and bass, the snares and brass. It's like listening to the heartbeat of a monster that lives deep within a volcano. I mean no disrespect when I say your interpretation vacillates between beautifully hopeful and hopelessly naive. For our whole lives our consciousness tries to find and assign meaning to this existence through symbols.and creation, only to discover that eternity always wins, and we are all nothing. Our little games are meaningless in the face of timelessness. But we will keep trying to find our way, because it's all we have.

“We are nothing” is the same as saying “we are everything” I get what you mean though, oscillating between the one and the other is -us- On one hand, in a million years no one will even know we were here on this planet. On the other hand we are here NOW in this very beautiful moment, that could not be repeated in exactly the same way even if we tried to (in an infinite multiverse each with infinite timelines), listening to an artist that makes us question existence and interpret it in different ways. That’s some powerful music! And you mentioned games, yes! Lorn plays an exquisite game of “making music”. While we play the game of “what does it mean?” (In between “the work game” and “the family game” and all the other games we play under the umbrella of “the human game” under which the universe plays us - if anyone doesn’t understand go listen to Alan Watts - The Joker and get your mind blown 🤯) Got Damn Lorn! I cannot put words to how beautiful this musical landscape is but I'll try anyway, and maybe that's the point, to go beyond the words, right at which moves and motivates from within, an attack on emotions, off which the surrender is somewhere alongside the blissful planes of pleasures only music knows how to deliver. This maze to nowhere is a trick, the maze is real, how every notes keep one hostage is the trick. Well done Lorn. I am simply put inexplicably amazed beyond what words can express.

I think I've figured out the notes in There Is Still Time. It's got such a haunting progression....something about it is just insanely beautiful. Almost has a shoegaze quality to it. So.... the higher drone that plays throughout is basically just Ab.....which briefly slides down to a G....before going back to the main Ab drone throughout. Under that....the bass tones appear to be(I could be wrong, but it sounds good!): F - Bb - Db - Eb. That's it. Simple. But so so good.

+Potato Salmon you might really enjoy Eskmo. His new album is made out of many field recordings and if you have time and some really good headphones, listen especially to the tracks SpVce, combustion, the sun is a drum and can't breathe. I've been listening to all of Lorn's songs for a while now and I recommend checking out his other stuff like Ask The Dust and Grief Machine. If you want to hear something that has a more dancy, but still incredible sound, check out ZES' Hindsight EP, the tracks on there like Grimm, Bliss and especially Final Decay will blow your mind. I also recommend DIVERSA's soundcloud. Lots of experimental and beautiful sounds ranging from jazzy chill beats to experimental dubstep. If you really like electronic, check out The M Machine's metropolis eps (part 1 and 2, there are 2 ep and the 3rd "Just Like EP" is not part of metropolis series and is not really impressive).
