really dana? you don't get bored? this one is sooooooooo long....i get weird about the length of the videos...i was advised to keep them about 10 minutes long...what on earth can 'we' create in 10 minutes? i can not even show you my 'bed head' and 'duckie robe' in 10 minutes...lol! so thank you for the support around the longer videos....some projects just take longer....and they are so 'juicy'...you cannot get that depth in 10 minutes, right? so yeah...thank you much!!! see you on the table!!

I rust with vinegar and salt.In a plastic container you layer your vinegar wet fabric/paper with pieces of metal and with each layer you sprinkle some salt..I have a collecting of old bike chains ,horse shoes ,old pins ,nails, washers I use.You can use new bits of metal .Leave the layers in the plastic to rust till they are rusted enough for you,I check mine daily and its best done in summer if you get snow.Be careful if you have different thicknesses in paper/fabric in the same rusting batch.Rinse paper /fabric in water, then soak in a mix of water and soda Bicarb ( 1 cup to a bucket) for a few minutes ,then rinse again and dry.The plastic container is simply to keep the vinegar wet fabric moist and you can use plastic bags or sheeting .

Its not really and I tend to do a good size batch of fabric ,lace and paper together in one of those plastic storage bins and use it for the rinsing ,then storage when done.The bicarb soak is to stop the rusting process and honey if we were closer Id be in one of your classes.

I've been trying to figure out why the way you use "juicy" tickles me the way it does, and recalled that I used that word frequently. I'm a retired college professor; I used to teach writing and literature. When working with freshman students, I used to urge them to find some "juicy verbs" to add to their papers. lol

yes that is taking all day, just as a day job really, only a super nice job isn't it?, well on my channel I make gell prints, trying new things I see on other channels and make junk journals too, it was so funny becouse, when I made my first book, everybody was complimenting me on my junk journal, only I didn't know that it was a junk like journal, I just made someting that was close to my heart and followed my feeling about the way I wanted the papers to go, and everything, I make art my whole life, but I discoverd bookmaking just a half a jear ago[too bad a little late in my life] but best late than never wright, really fell in love with it too, and at first I followed other people allong with teir bookmaking but tryed it my own way, now I really want to go my own way, follow my own true path so to speak, I am working on an altered book I got from my mom[she gave me quite a few old books], this book is a theme Alice in wonderland for my jungest doughter Laila, sorry about the long message, but when I see you work it is giving me also the courage to just try what you want to make, well I'll stop now hahaha, I wil see you on the table, bye bye

arrabella....that is why we have an entire 'village' of creative peeps on my 'our' youtube channel...my tutorials are suggestions only....to get those creative juices flowing...then everyone puts their own voice into their piece....ahhhhhh....the self expression that happens is thrilling, really....usually the first piece made from the tutorial is more like mine...then the 'take two' piece (the second piece you make from the tutorial) has taken on a life force of its own....yep....life is goo....and yes...i WILL see you on the table!!!

wowza lyn.....what a GREAT question!!! it is easier for me to work in the center and then work out....i never know what is going to be FANTASTIC enough for the front and back....i find those are very important 'interest' points for someone experiencing the book...so i 'play' in the center and let the intensity be in the center, beginning and end....hmmmmmm...pretty deep...does it make sense tho? go create, go play, go have fun!

Of course, 'underpants' is an artistic term for paper, which you use as a base on your substrate. I'd be happy to share the technique for making rust for making rust appear on paper, cloth, and more. :)

a huge difference! the gesso is used to give things a bite....the texture paste is that...it gives texture by adding another depth....height...hmmmmm....does that help? gesso is much thinner! thank you for the question! see you on the table...
