I am landing at TBIT and then have a domestic connection at Terminal 7 (with United Airlines). Do you recommend I walk or take the airport shuttle?

I actually don't have experience with their shuttle. However, this video is shown in real time, so it took me about 15 minutes to walk from the outside of the International Terminal to the outside of Terminal 7.

I'm not certain since I don't live in LA, but it looks like there was some construction going on near the International terminal

They are different terminals next to each other. The first one was Terminal 1, and then Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 was recently renovated. However, I don't think terminal 2 has been renovated yet. But eventually all the terminals will be fully renovated and/or expanded. They are also expanding the recently completed mid-field West international terminal with 9 additional gates. Next to Terminal 1 they will add a new concourse. Maybe that is why Terminal 1 hasn't been renovated yet. They will also add a brand new Terminal 9 to the Southeast section of the airport. BTW, this airport is two levels. The ground level is usually arriving flights and the second level is departing flights so each Terminal is two stories or taller. Lastly, they are building a new automated tram system rhat will connect to rhe LA Metro. All these projects will ve completed before the 2028 Olympics.

Terminals 2 and 3, which serve Delta, are being renovated. Terminal B (intl terminal) has had several renovations in the past, including the recently opened west gates terminal. A people mover is currently under construction. Not sure if terminal 1, 4, 5,6,7, and 8 will receive renovations , they desperately need them though.
