For example, if at the start of the game Lakers had scored 17-5, then all 5 players on the court that time will have +12. Suppose PlayerA gets substituted out of the game by PlayerB, while PlayerC remained on the court. And Hornets made a run making the scoreboard 20-20, then +/- will show as below: PlayerA +12 (17-5 when he was on court) PlayerB -12 (Hornets made a 3-15 run when he was on court) PlayerC at 0 (since he got +12 during the 17-5 scoreboard, and -12 when Hornets made it 20-20, [a 3-15 points run]) Hope that clears it for you.

If Dlo was as fast as the other guards in the league, Lakers would be unstoppable. I am afraid his speed is what limits him and he will be easy to defend in the playoffs meaning he will most likely average less than 10 points again when it matters and Bron and AD will have to struggle to win.

Blocking shots is not defense. It means you are tall. Defense is more complex. It is how much you can impact the defense of your team as a whole when you are on the court vs the effect of not having you in court. AD could not stop Celtics on December, but Lakers EASILY stopped a fully loaded Celtics team without AD. Everything has to be evaluated. Everyone knows AD is the most important player in his team followed by Austin Reaves, but DPOY is too much.

@@luispg8523Dawg, it’s NBA basketball. EVERYONE is tall, even the “short” guys. Elite shot-blockers have to be agile and cat-fast, and have a natural understanding of how to hold their position in order to not cause fouls all day. AD’s footwork is amazing. Watch him guard Curry. The feet are sliding on a 6’0” guard. How many 6’10” dudes can guard the 3-point line and the paint against one of the savviest ball-handlers and shot makers in history. He’s beyond an elite defender. In fact, he so good that the rest of his team generally elect not to play defense. 😂 AR is probably the fourth most important guy on the team.

By the way, Curry is not only small, he is old, has had multiple injuries and surgeries and is hated by the referees and Adam Silver. Guarding him means you have all the support in the world. Curry is the only player who can get a punch in his face and don't get any call.

Beautiful to see the ball move so much from the Lakers. I feel like their identity offensively is to move the ball around, get lots of touches and live in the paint to make the occasional three. And defensively it’s just AD’a presence and dominance 😂 Lakers need to be better at guarding the 3 and defending the transition. But this is looking promising, finally after several mini-strokes watching many laker games this season, it’s looking turning a page 😢
