I mean, these creatures feel pain too. So letting them live with a plefera of diseases is like torturing an old person while they are constantly being kept alive by medical equipment. I mean living long is good and all but imagine the more injuries you sustain and the more diseases you catch by staying longer than you where ment to be on this earth. Our body's break down to a point where they can't support us any more, and we can't force what is essentially a person that can't speak to live being their intended lifetime. Heaven or not i would preferably live to around 85.

I think it depends. As someone who works in a veterinary clinic, you really have to ask "can this animal still have a fulfilling life? Will it be suffering or unable to properly play, move around, etc. On its own?" If the answer to those questions is no, then you're doing your pet a favour by allowing them to let go instead of living a life that they can't enjoy and you're being selfish by prolonging a pets life when they're suffering or unable to properly live happily.

wizardsbane sometimes you just have to let loved ones go, we had to with a cat who was 10, he grew up with me and ended up having bowl problems and it hurt him when he pooped so a few months before we put him down we got a new cat, we got to say our goodbyes to him, then my dad took him to the family farm and shot him in the head, putting him out of his misery and suffered, it was an act of mercy, they shouldn’t have to go through great pain just so you don’t have to feel sad

I laughed too and she's right about people trying hard to keep an old dying pet alive....but if you have a young cat with eye problems or a dog who can't walk properly, what's wrong with getting them things to make life better? Why should the animal have to die because someone feels like they are too messed up to live?

True but at the same time she makes a good point. A dog is a dog, yeah it’ll be happy to be alive but what kind of life is a dog living if it can’t run anymore and you have to change it’s diaper. She gets that people love their pets but it’s a really selfish love, it’s a love saying “I’m not ready for my animal to die so I’m going to put it through medical torture so it can live for a couple more months.” And animals are way more accepting of death than we think. When a cat is dying it knows and will go somewhere so it can die alone.

7 yrs ago... damn Tbh, people _love_ their pets, they mean alot to them, so of course they'd want to extend the life of that animal. To them the animal isn't just a toy, but they're family and often an Emotional Therapy Animal, moreso for those w Depression or Anxiety like myself & others.

Not all dogs live to be 15 Mine was a corgi (13-15 years) We got lucky and got a good 16 years outta her and she stopped eating, pissed everywhere and had bad arthritis She was put down last year

This is kinda true though, I think the quality of the animals life is more important then the quantity. If your animal is sick and really really dirt old, just think how that animal is just ready to pass on. Think "am I forcing my animal to live because of my own feelings?" recently we lost our dog to dementia, she would hit the walls poop and pee everywhere cause she can control her body anymore. We had to break it to a 7 year old that the dog is hurt and we don't want her hurting anymore. The kid is hurting yes, but they will learn to accept that not everything can live forever. AnyWAY nice video and animation, Its really smooth and eye appealing!

I have a family friend who’s sisters cat is 21 and they have had no complications and her, sure the friend is a veterinarian but she does horses and they haven’t really done anything to prolong its life or anything, they’re just kind of waiting for it to die to be honest! It does have some separation issues so when her sister goes on trips she takes the cat. 16 hour drive!? No fucks from the cat. Cat got into a box of cake pops?! Perfectly fine! It’s really weird
