Fierce wildfires tore through Los Angeles suburbs on Tuesday in California, US, destroying buildings and forcing chaotic evacuations. Hurricane-force winds spread the blaze to nearly 3000 acres across Pacific Palisades, a wealthy area in the Santa Monica Mountains. Panicked residents abandoned cars on the narrow roads, fleeing on foot as firefighters used bulldozers to clear expensive vehicles like Teslas and BMWs, leaving them crushed with alarms blaring. Despite the chaos, no deaths or injuries were reported, according to Fire Chief Kristin Crowley. Over 30,000 people evacuated as hundreds of firefighters battled the flames, creating firebreaks and trying to contain embers carried by the strong winds.
