I would say Gangnam Style is the closest gen z equivalence to Macarena in terms of the speed at which it became an instant global hit, and the fact that both are mostly known for the easy to follow signature dance moves. Both carry a similar vibe (comedic) and are the most famous one hit wonders (at least on a global scale) of their respective generation. Despacito is an immensely popular song that defines an era in music but it does not have the same unique characteristics that Macarena and Gangnam Style share and are famous for.
