I have Hashimoto’s, dealing with a lot of inflammation…switched to this way of eating, within 2 weeks my joints stopped hurting, and I lost 30 pounds over the year. I love it!

Isn't it amazing what a WFPB diet will do?! Oil is HUGE for inflammation. That and my waist ;)

Wow, Lindsey does not look old enough to be anywhere near approaching menopause. She is positively glowing with health and I would have said she was in her 30s, truly.

That is very sweet. My mom went through menapause in her late 30s! I will be 45 in a few weeks. I can tell it is coming. Cycles don't lie :)

Belief! I'm a week away from my 1 year Healthy Emmie Slim on Starch anniversary having lost 20 lbs and kept it off (I'd lost 20 lbs prior to SOS but struggled to keep it off [wt loss total 40 lbs]). The idea of having a mindset coach and a nutrition coach gave me the confidence to believe that it would work, and it has! Thank you Emmie and coaches Beth & Ashley 🤗

Belief. How do we figure out what our primary foods are? Are there certain questions to ask ourselves? Like for me, I've been a Mom for so many years. Its like I don't even know what I like to do. I've been a homeschooling stay at home Mom for 20 years. My life has been all about my husband and kids... thanks for the video, Emmie! 💕

Girl, I get you! Primary foods are so important. She has a whole section in her SOS program dedicated to finding your primary foods. I work 2 jobs and have 3 kids and have been married for 20 years. So I get it. But I also know what happens when you don't feed your spirit. Example: if you loved reading books before. Go get a book and set time aside everyday to read it. Or whatever fills your cup. We can get so focused on our kids and family that we feel a little lost. Best of luck!!!

Oh my. This one really spoke to me. Dealing with possible autoimmune kidney issues, edema, menopausal weight gain, vitamin deficiency (b1 of all thing) all in the last 3 yrs. Have been slim all of my life till about age 50. I was about 15 lbs over weight yet it seemed it was way too much for my body. On my own, Made a plan in Jan when i felt stiff and defeated to be plant predominant, less salt, and eat plain steamed or baked potatoes to my heart content when hungry. This was after being all gung ho about low catb a few yrs back and having convinced my hubbie on the low carb way. Now i had to tell him that i am changing my way and that the culprit might not be the carbs, or at least not the unprocessed carbs and it might actually be the unnecessary high levels of fat and in my case possibly salt. Eating this way is not difficult (am south east asian so pretty comfortable cooking plant fwd), i just have to let go of the overuse of oil/salt, cook simpler, batch cook veges and practice new habits till they stick. Food should not be entertainment is a good reminder. Already lost 7lbs since Jan and feeling better but still have get through a nephro consult soon. Recently found this channel, the healthy mummie series and loving the mindset tidbits. Thank you Emmie.

What are primary foods? Starches?
@ninahill67682 жыл бұрын
It's Emmie's way of referring to other things in your life that fuel your life: Family, Friends, Hobbies, Health etc. It's a way to switch your mindset around food and eating. I've not done her program but its what I gather from her videos...
@lindseywhitticar78922 жыл бұрын
@@ninahill6768 YES, you are on the right track with that. We talk a lot about that and there is a whole module that is dedicated to primary foods. It is amazing how much I used to focus on food and meals. I love the simplicity of it all now. I do enjoy cooking, and will still do some crazy recipe at times, but I keep to my KISS meals.
