Hello from Chicago where it is snowing also! First I would like to say how lovely you look in that soft grey color! I am 68 and have never dieted! As I got older, I started weighing myself every couple of days. I am not obsessed about my weight, but I know it’s easier to maintain my weight than it is to lose weight. If I gain a couple of pounds, I don’t beat myself up about it- I just have smaller portions and forgo dessert for a couple of days ! And I know it’s difficult for many people with crazy schedules, but consistently getting a good night’s sleep will go a long way to aid in maintaining health and weight.

As I've gotten older, I have noticed terrible bloating and quick weight gain if I eat a lot of carbs. I am not someone who believes in getting rid of complete food groups unless you have a medical condition. Having said that, I have cut down the amount of carbs such as bread and rice, stopped eating between meals, and have cut out processed food. Doing that has melted the unwanted belly fat away with little to no effort on my part. I have found that if I eat nutrient-dense meals, the desire to snack between them is not really there. Marie-Ann, you continue to be such an inspiration to us. Thank you for all of the work you do to put video content out so regularly for your viewers!

Bonjour Marie-Anne. Loved this video and yes Diet's are bad eating healthy is a lifestyle. A 88 year old Italian lady said she has never dieted in her life and she looks amazing for 88 no work done on her face all natural her clothes are Beautiful and makeup natural. The media pushes diets onto women and men it's wrong. Another wonderful video helpful for many. You look Fresh and glowing love the makeup and blush. Hello to Carl. Have a Beautiful weekend. xx

Missed the live chat due to heavy traffic in the snow. You are so right about discipline and the older you get the more you need. I‘ve stopped eating when I don’t feel hungry.

That is a very simple but effective plan Elke - you would be surprised how many people can't do that 👍
I like your idea of fasting the way you do it, Marie-Anne. I realize I do it a lot without knowing it. My doctor says, fast 12 hours before a blood test the next day. It's easy, I eat dinner at 6pm by 9am the next morning appointment I'm ready for my blood test.(Breakfast when I get home). Now I keep up that routine most of the time. I think it helps what I weigh now. I also drink water before early morning coffee. I heard you say something similar in your course you offer. I like hearing how French eat their food. Thank you.

Agreed on the idea of cooking your own food and avoiding seed oils and processed food plus lots of water. For me, avoiding gluten and dairy are both musts due to food sensistivities. Staples are lean meats, fruits, veggies and a small amount of gluten free grains. I only eat out once in a while at a few trusted places where things are made fresh. I have eaten this way since 2010 due to Hoshimoto's and been able to keep my thyroid functioning normally and avoid medication. Most of the time, I feel great. I have maintained my high school weight as well by eating this way and doing strength training along with daily walks with my dog. The French way to eat is basically what I do myself so right on, Marie- Anne.👍😁

Marie-Anne great topic. I weigh myself every morning and measure my waist and hip. I write them down. It only takes couple minutes to do it and it has become a habit to me. There I see what's happening, There has been times I forgot and after couple of days and perhaps some pieces of cakes, the weight jumped too much, so I know what to do then. 3 day's water fast gets rid of those extra kgs and cleanse the body. Anyway I try to do 5 to 7 days water fast always after Christmas. It's good time because it's hot and everybody is on holidays so I can take it easy and concentrate on my fast and sunbake to absorb all possible vitamin D. I also do intermittent fasting 14-16 hrs and I have a good exercise routine, too. When I was young I was slim and now at 71 I think my body looks normal perhaps little bit extra on tummy but it's not disturbing or make my silhouette bad and with all that good advice you give how to dress and style, nobody probably even notice my tummy. Thank you so much. Healthy eating and hydrating are the basics, also good sleep to balance hormones.

The secret is to drop the carbs! There are no essential carbohydrates; only essential fatty acids and essential amino acids (protein). Eat meat, fish, eggs, butter, tallow (beef fat) until you can't anymore. Try this for 30 days; you'll thank me later!

I'm 56 and in menopause. I'm on carnivore diet over one year now, I'm walking every day about one hour, I do some light workouts at home every day for 20 minutes (pilates, ballet , light weights) and I'm eating two meals in day with 16-18 hours of fasting every day. I'm thinner now in menopause than in my 20s and 30s, and my belly is totally flat and muscular. I think diet is a key...most people loose weight on carnivore diet and everyday fasting.
