Woah! Nice reaction! Glad u like him and yes he is a freaking musical genius and a stage beast. He composes or rearranges most of his own performances. I love it when new reactors choose 'equal to heaven' as their first intro to Hua cos this allows a glimpse of what he is capable of but yet shows only the surface of his immense talent. Will suggest you to react according to his performances on Singer 2018 (which is this show). Equal to heaven is actually his first appearance in the show, so you are kinda on the right track. Enjoy!

I came across him a couple of years ago and am still constantly surprised and thrilled by his performances. Truly a musical genius. He wrote Equal to Heaven for a Chinese mythological movie. It is a battle between the gods of heaven, and the two conflicting halves of self. The ethereal heavenly voice of reason and serenity is pitched against the ambition and aggression of the rap. And yes, no-one listening for the first time expects that switch. Heart attack for real! As I suggested, listen to Nunchucks next. You'll get a whole other taste of his genre defying abilities. Then maybe Wayfarer or New World. Fake Monk will freak you out - you definitely need to have English subtitles for this one. Actually anything from Singer 2018 ( he came second to Jessie J) and Singer 2020 which he won. Yes, it's an amazing show that focusses on extraordinary talent. I really enjoyed your genuine shock and appreciation of both the performance and the Baby Bamboo translation. In Chinese, the surname is put first. So he is Hua Chen Yu. You say it Hwa Chen Yu (sort of like Watchin You) In the subs they've anglicised the order to Chenyu Hua. He actually is affectionately known as Hua Hua, which means double flower. 🌸🌸 So great you might be getting other people to discover Hua Hua. Blessings.

You can find English Caption videos for many of Hua's performances on The Baby Bamboo channel (you mentioned them at the end of video) and most of them from the I Am Singer (The Singer) show as well. The Baby Bamboo channel doesn't mind if they are shared. If you havent already I highly recommend you check out Dimash Kudaibergen. He also appeared on I Am a Singer (The Singer) show season before Hua Chenyu. He is known as one of the best singers in the world. The English caption videos for performances by Dimash can be found on the Gloria Wu channel and are okay to share as well. By the way Hua Chenyu returned to The Singer last year and won 👍

Hats off A for checking out other artists on The Singer. You're right about the talent on this show, it is a singing competition for the best of the best from China (and other Asian countries). 2018 was the first year they invited outsiders like Jessie J and KZ Tandingan. Next to KZ and Jessie J, Hua Chenyu really impressed me with most of his Singer performances. Keep up the great work!
