#1 everytime you take your car out to race, the steering trim changes when shutting down the car and receiver. # Reset steering trim or car will go out of control #3 pull the differential and replace 500,000 wt grease with 2.5 million silicon differential fluid. Dial way back steering dual rate to absolute minimum. #4 on a 7.4 volt battery, with these items checked off , you will get 90% consistent hard straight line runs. P.S. - if traxxas is using TSM, it will have straight line advantages, obviously

They were all on the same 2s battery. I believe TSM was on. And I'm wording the same thing lol. Working on all 3 cars and I'll probably have a rematch video.

Did you use the pinion gear Traxxas includes for Drag Racing or did it have the all around pinion gear in it? I just got a Drag Slash but I haven't run it yet. Also, I heard that headlamp restoration stuff works to remove scratches on your RC body but I haven't tried it myself. Cool video. Thanks for doing the comparison.

Thanks for watching...No the pinion I ran it with is the one that's already installed right out of the box. It's definitely going to be faster with the optional pinion but I wanted the races to be the way they are without doing anything to them but installing the batteries and running them. Maybe I'll do another race with the other pinion installed. Thanks for the tip I'm going to try it to see if it removes the scratch. 😎👍

I’ve got all the Traxxas , losi and associated drag cars with multiple upgrades to each one… I just got another losi drag chassis on sale for $129 …I noticed losi has installed limiters inside the spring on shock rod to prevent travel…most likely to prevent the RR driveshaft from rubbing on the gear cover! Maybe this is well known now?

The Losi has the rubber tubes inside the shocks to shorten the travel on the front I removed them and it soften the shocks alot and I ran a very light oil and set the travel so that when it’s on the wheelie bar the front wheels don’t come off the ground. I race in the box stock class it’s also called budget stock eliminators the we are allowed to run Slash DR10 or Losi and can run any combination of electronics that come on them my fastest car is a DR10 with the VXL esc on the Spektrum 6500kv with Proline slicks my best time is a 2.38 with a 2s 250 lipo

I found my Losi rolling chassis needed quite a bit a work to hook up and go straight. Rear shocks need the limiters shortened to increase travel , camber and toe adjustment. Went with Proline reaction blue dot rears

Drive your Traxxas C10 with out the gyro. To see why Traxxas wins. The problem with Losi and Dr10 are too light you need to add weight and Adjust the back sway bars. I build my dr10 from cero, and I learn a lot trying to Tune it.

The issue with the losi is the rear interference with the gear cover on launch, thats why it pulls left they all do it

The Losi comes with a race pinion on it. The Traxxas comes with a practice gear on it- which is how he raced them. (Race gear in the box) See if you think the Losi is better after you even things up on the gearing!

Thanks. I've had some suggestions to try on the losi to help with better traction. Going to try a few of them this summer as I haven't had much time this past year for the hobby due to work. As far as the traction on the traxxas your are maybe correct in saying it's probably getting really good traction because of the stability management. It's been a while so I don't really remember, but I thought we turned it off.

@@thischildishlifestyle that's just gearing to teach my buddy a lesson. I can go a lot faster according to my math, and I can also go up to 7s. Buddy wouldn't stop saying he'd always be faster, so I'm ending the discussion emphatically, with this car(he bought as a gag for Christmas as he got himself a drag slash) and with a fireteam that is ready for the 150s. I'm gonna smoke him by bus lengths, and then head home. He gives me bad rc advise on purpose. I've only been doing the last couple years, he's a mechanic that's been doing it since 8. I named the dr10 "Your Illusions", so he can watch them disappear. Written right on the rear in bold letters.

On the Losi- Can you use less throttle at launch? Also the Traxxas will get much faster after you replace the practice gear with the race gear.

My brother has 2 of the traxxas. 1 built and 1 stock. Over powering the road is a thing. And i beat him with the stock setup and his built. I believe the DR10 with some gearing could be more competitive.maybe some esc upgrades.

Nice racing, so the drag slash for win! So the Losi is over all faster than the slash? 2s runs maybe, I got almost 55 mph on 3s, if you take off tsm ( drag race mode)it’s a lot harder to keep it straight, good video brother, see you on the next one👍

Yes, all 3 ran on the same battery and the losi was the fastest completely stock without adjusting or doing anything to them except throw a battery in. But the traxxas handled best right out the box and won most races. Thanks for watching brother. 😎👍

Spend 30 sec. on the losi setting pre-load on the rear shocks and it'll straighten out.

I have the Losi Camaro and you do not have it dialed in yet because it will beat the Drag Slash and totally annihilate the DR10. The Drag Slash is a very good truck and great competition for the Losi. The DR10 is not a favorite of mine so I will just leave it at that

Yes maybe I didn't do a good job of explaining the race in the video The race was all 3 straight out of the box without doing anything but throwing the battery in. I did say in the video the losi is the fastest of the 3. So I agree with you, if I dial the losi in and got it to run straight every time it would probably win every race. And yes, the dr10 definitely needs allot of help to compete with the other two lol. Thanks for watching

For 500 bucks it better go straight! Lol. You didn't talk about price. The dr10 is the cheapest as well and they also offer a team kit for 199 that you can add your own better electronics for the same price as what the over priced slash costs. To me I don't think the c10 body and the gimmick trans break is worth the extra 200 plus dollars. For 500 I could make that dr10 wax that slashes ass. Price is a factor my friend

Absolutely agree. It was only a comparison vid racing them against each other straight out of the box without adjusting or changing a thing. I have been working on the dr10 and also the losi. The next vid I make will be with all 3 all dialed in and ready to go. Honestly the dr10 is probably the one I'll race the most even though I really love the losi. Slash is probably my least favorite... but still a nice truck. And yes, price is definitely a factor. Thanks for watching I appreciate it 👍😎

Hey, so in case anyone doesn't know yet, the reason that the Losi keeps going to the left at launch is because the gearbox cover interferes with the rear right suspension arm, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJyro6GQibdqaqM

Seeing how the AE has a 3300kv motor. The Traxxas has. 3500kv motor And the Losi has a 6500kv motor, of course the AE is the slowest.

More than one driver and it was still the same results. Not saying it's a bad rc but that's straight out of the box without doing anything to it. Others that have the losi have also said it needs to be dialed in before it can run a straight line. Sorry you don't like the results but definitely wasn't driver error. If that's the case then why did the same drivers run the traxxas in a straight line ?

2 DR10 kits will run you $400. They have no body, tires or electronics. While I agree the Traxxas is a little overpriced, it, the DR10 or the Losi aren't going to do much at a track without dumping several hundred into them. They are great to get someone new into the hobby. Most serious people right now on 2s are running 2 or sub 2 second passes. Most of those people have well over a grand in their cars.

@@TravelingStacker You're kidding right? All a drag slash is, is a dr10 that costs over 200 more lol. It doesn't have any features you'd expect a 500 dollar drag car to have. Plastic shocks, no sway bar, stock electronics, the body is nice but that's it. I have built 8 cars and also run in a list race and at local track. I have a stock dr10 for spec class and run a 2.9 qll stock except for gears and reactions tires. So, you need 60 bucks to be competitive. Really, you can run 2.9 on stock tires so just buy some gears and there ya go. Losi same way, drag slash same way. Except, who wants to spend 500 bucks on something you can get for 300?

Throw in $100 for a good battery and another $60 for a decent charger. Now ditch the gyro because I've yet to find a NPRC track that allows it. Now add belted tires, gears, oil and other misc items and you're starting to add up quick. Want to run in the low 2s or sub 2s? Better start adding more to the pile. Is it a cheap hobby? It can be. Is it fun? HECK YEA! I just try and be realistic with people who watch videos and think $100 added to an rtr is going to run 2.1s or lower and win $5000 or more purses. Either way, bedtime for me. Works starts early. Enjoy your evening.

@@TravelingStacker Everything you just listed is things needed by someone completely new to the hobby. So, assuming they're new to the hobby and they buy the drag slash, you just made the price of a stock drag slash over $700. Everything you listed would be needed no matter what RTR they bought. I've have all 3 cars. I have 2 RTR dr10s for stock class, a dr10 kit thats on a drag concepts carbon fiber chassis, a Losi RTR, a Losi roller I used for a bullet chassis and 1 RTR drag slash. My dr10 drag concepts runs 2.1 with a maclan drk160, r1 wurks all out build 3.5t, bunch of goodies, trinity holeshot lipo ($120) I believe. My point is, I have well over a grand in that car but no, you don't need to sink that kind of money to be competitive at the track. I'm just as competitive in my dr10 stock car running 2.9 using a 20 dollar cnhl 120c 5600mah 2s and 20 bucks in gearing. My slash I got running 2.9s as well stock. Same lipo and different gearing setup but still had to buy gears. Point being, don't tell people that they have to put thousands of dollars to make a dr10 or losi to be competitive. Hell, My stock losi I got down to 2.7 but it's not competitive in outlaw class obviously but is competitive in a losi stock class. I love traxxas, I'd usually be the first to recommend traxxas, except for drag racing. They dropped the ball on this one.
