Thanks for posting. I thought it was the shock. After watching your post I notched it with a dremel. Works great now.

Just got one of these. Out of the box the front end has no downward travel. Plenty of upward travel though. If you push down on the front of the chassis the car bottoms out. Ever notice when you put a real car on a lift the suspension drops. Consequently when you launch you get zero weight transfer to the rear. If you eliminate the travel stops in the shocks and get rid of the spacers you get enough droop in front to keep the front tires closer to the track and the rear of the car squats to increase traction. You also gain enough ride height to stop the bottoming out. I'm using 30 weight in front and 80 in the rear as well. Now when I launch the I can also steer sooner as the wheels droop downward. Yeah I'm runnin with the clutch cover notched as well

I noticed the same thing with mine within a few minutes going through the rig... The second option is to notch the cover to keep the majority of stuff out of the spur/pinion, but allow the dog bone to travel up far enough to allow for it to clear properly. A cover on a drag car is not entirely necessary, but is good insurance.

You can take your dremel and grind some of the material on the clutch cover and that won't hurt anything 😎👍

So I have had two chassis now I destroyed my first one. I noticed the second roller came with tubing on the shock shafts To stop it. I actually noticed the axle hitting the slipper clutch cover on the first one. I changed the shock oil to 100 weight and I did not have a problem with it hitting the slipper clutch anymore. Thank you for posting this for everyone to see. Keep up the good content.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Couple other guys said their car came with pumps as well. I guess that’s the wa they shipped them out OR this is a losi solution.

Nitrous Fed Films, I watched the video how to turn off reverse, I pattern my Camaro after yours when I seen your time slips, I know all cars act different but you showed what the car was capable of that's what peaked my interest. I did do one thing that I wanted and that was to use a Traxxas radio and receiver with trans brake, my reaction time is as slow as a turtle with a broke leg, I did my DR10 the same way thanks to Jenny's RC.

I purchased the yellow Ford truck, added a sway bar, added spacer to right rear shock, lower drag bar, removed front limiters from the shocks, played with slippers clutch finally launches some what straight on 2s, 3s no way. Finally added Spectrum AVC, which really helped, but can't be used at Sanctioned events. So now I will try removing slipper cover and see what happens? Still love the car and a blast to drive in parking lots or on the street!

I have a new one I bought about 4 weeks ago as of today and I heard all the complaints about the cover interference. That was the first thing I checked, now can't speak for everyone but my Losi has rear shock limiters so get full amount of the compression I'm looking for without any cover interference. Now I don't know if they caught it before it went out or what but I could show you the limiters but I don't have a GoPro or the knowledge how even post a picture on KZbin. I believe what your saying and I first seen it on Roadside RC. At first I thought someone mixed up the shocks, I just unboxed this car last week because I was working on something else but I do have full suspension but now if it goes straight is another story? Every single car or truck I own and that's from 3 different companies has had some sort of flaw, anywhere from axle stub screws not loctited to excessive play and wheel wobbles. My biggest problem was with my Mojave 6S , out of round tires, bad. Horizon Hobby sent me a new set of 4 after filling out tons of forms sending videos of the problem, jumping through all their policy hoops, I get new ones that do the same thing ! We're not talking about a $459 Losi , we're talking about $775 Arrma Mojave. If you ever really want to a R C's weak spot look online and see what the RC aftermarket has made to fix the problems. Even though I like the hobby it is a money making industry right now, just think of the parts the Bashers go through. I can wear out a Arrma 3S offroad truck in less than a month. For the RC industry their a great money making machine.

I just bought a roller, and it came with a notched spur gear cover, but these shocks all feel terrible! Easy fix!
@gearhead7623 жыл бұрын
If the rear shock has to fully compress for the car to be useful you have more problems than a design flaw. On a decent drag setup the rear shocks should not have to compress much at all to get it launching decent.

Mine came with fuel tubing to limit travel in the rear. So I guess that's Losi's solution. The car launches straight.
@rc91193 жыл бұрын
Cool ya mine did not come with bump stops, but that is a solution if your not looking for full travel. Yours will launch straight with bumps absolutely.

Can you cut the cover some to at least to cover the gears
@Jasonkartracing3 ай бұрын
It is a design flaw but you have to remember that the chassis like the others, Slash and DR10, started out as a buggy or short course truck first. They took them platforms and made drag vehicles.

On my new Losi they put a 6.0mm length .gas line tubing on the out side of the shock shaft so compression length is mineable I’m not to sure if I like this idea but as they say it’s out of the box
@Darwin.B3 жыл бұрын
I noticed that mine was doing this out of the box, I moved the shocks out to the furthest point top and bottom and make sure the shock is full of oil. Mine is now not hitting with front tires in the air and less preload clips on the shocks that out of the box

A flaw for sure...I removed my cover off my slash.When I saw how much dirt accumulated in it. I figure it's better not having in on vs a dirt circulating in the cover eventually working it's way to the mesh point of the gears.
@edp5499 Жыл бұрын
The wheelie bar should not even let both shocks fully compress. I suspect the max real world compression is reached far before the drive shaft hits the gear cover. Also, if the right side shock travel is limited it would cause the left front end to lift sooner, not the right. The conclusions in this video are questionable.

@earlmoorhead55553 жыл бұрын
No worries 👍 the wheelie bar hits the ground before the axle shaft on the left rear hits the cover 💯 if the rear of the rc chassis is hitting the ground the shocks are way to soft as it will create a bigger issue ..also the angle of the drive cup and the axle pin you want as straight as possible on a launch so there is no binding in the axle cup taking Power away from the motor and 2s battery, as the esc is already small and the kv has not much torque any binding will just slow the rc down 👌 love to see everyone looking for power loose as you have anyway that show your looking for flaws keep up the good work 💯💯💪💪
