Geez you're a breath of fresh air. When I wasn't earning enough to buy things others had that i desired, i didn't complain about the price. I told myself, I'm going to get there just keep working hard, and or save up. Well, now I'm in the "mid-career" stage, and when my wife isn't getting away with stealing most of the residual income I buy what the fk I can afford. This RC is huge and 550.00 to 599.99 for 1/4 scale is very fair. This bike is a tremendous amount of fun once you get good with the handling which takes practice. Been RC for a while, and personally, this is the best RC purchase i have ever made. I do not recommend running this bike in the streets without the street tires, my bike after several offroad runs still looks brand new with the exception of the muffler tip being lost, and that's because i was having so much fun i didn't realize it was gone until i got home. Overall, this Losi dirt bike is easily in my top 10 RC's of all time, and i been in and out of RC since 2003.

Short grass is what I run. I have two now. Green I have not run. I have had my red one longer and managed to avoid breaking anything. I have removed the side bars for some time now. You are gonna love this bike when you get more experience with it you will like it even more. Long ramps is what it likes. Landing it and riding a wheelie off the landing like I used to on my banshee. It’s cool as hell !!!!!

Around 35+ years ago I had a lot of fun with a Graupner Elec Rider RC on-road motorcycle. It was a full on fast brushed RC bike with no gyro and hollow plastic rider with very grippy slick tyres. The steering was a full sized servo that pushed the forks left and right to shift the bike's balance and had a floppy front left/right wheel that aided turns during a bank. A great solid runner on hard roads that gave a great 20+ minute duration on a 5 cell Nicad pack strapped underneath that we fast charged in 15 minutes. The Rx was housed in the rider's chest area and the 4 AA Rx Nicad pack was located under the fairing at the fuel tank area. I have a SKYRC SR5 1/4 scale motorcross bike now with a rear wheel gyro fitted and apart from having a more fragile rider that can break at the neck, waist and knees, would be good competition for your Venom and Losi on it's 3s lipo...👍

I always wanted a Kyosho Hang on rider. They look so cool with that animated rider when it is all painted up.

Best Promoto racing video I've seen was on a oval track. Can't remember how big the track was but once the learning curve was adjusted by the driver it turned out to be pretty competitive, fun racing. Can't remember who posted but it's on KZbin.

To @ spend 2007- back in 2002 Radio Shack Ricky Carmichael came out for $130 & I waited for the price to drop 2 yrs later I bought 1 for $65 then about 3 months later when it was discontinued the price went to $19.95 & I bought 2 more ( 2 still in box) my grandson will drive one of those while my son & I will handle 2 of the 3 bikes while one will go on display (we will be the 3 musketeers on bikes) I enjoyed your post

Just make sure to put it in mode 2 or 3 before you start running it in a parking lot or where ever you go to run it because in mode 1 you’ll need to be on dirt only… or it will flip over and and start messing up stuff on it …. Also you have a power setting switch start at 75 % you will still have lots of power … battery life longer on that…have fun it’s a awesome Bike…

I should probably read the manual. Or look at it.

In regard to modes I have found wheelie mode to be the best mode if your jumping. Seems to give the most control of bike attitude in the air.

Great video, I think there could be a great racing class in these if the track is made for specifically these bikes and it’s capabilities. I just got the blue one. I’m waiting on the battery all I’m upgrading is the front caliper. If you lose control in the Marshall has to pick you up you’re out of the race. What are your thoughts?

I have two vids on my channel. On tracks. You can do 1/10 scale but difficult and slow. 1/8 scale totally doable but like you said it’s a different animal. I’m a novice btw. Great vid talking about it realistically

There is another big bike, which you didn't mentioned in your video. It goes by a few different names. But, the main name is the ARX-540. It was originally designed by an Italian company. Later by X-rider out of Hong Kong. I have two of them . The dirt version, and street version. They are both a 1/4 scale just like the Losi bike. The gyro is in the rear wheel. Thats the main difference with the Losi bike. I alslo have the new Losi bike. Great bike. Not perfect, but the best RC bike yet.

Nice assortment of bikes Derek. I'm surprised you didn't mention the nitro bikes from Thunder Tiger. You probably remember that some guys raced them at Sun Valley Raceway on the big 1/5 scale on-road track. As you know our mutual friend Lito Reyes was an aficionado of RC bikes and actually won some big races. Those things were squirrely as hell and took some real talent to get them around a track. I've never been a big nitro fan, but for some reason the nitro motorcycles were more appealing to me. I guess because the nitro element made them more scale-like. I wonder how long it will take for someone to figure out a way to throw a nitro engine in one of these things although I'm sure it will defeat the purpose of the having a separate flywheel and make the bike even more difficult to drive. As for me, I'm gonna pass on getting one of these because I know it will mostly sit on a shelf and rarely get driven. Good to see you return in front of the camera. Cheers!

the breakage would be the "radiator" part, mostly landing on the head of the rider.
