I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of someone so close to you :( It brings a lot of feelings that we usually don’t know how to deal with or feel about them, but one thing that’s helped me is making a conscious effort to remember that even though they may be gone, what they gave and what they left us-whether love, friendship, skills, anything-is still with us and that we honor them by continuing to share that with others.

Amen. thanks Blaize, it’s tough when you lose someone that’s like a brother. But he is always with me and I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing without what I learned from him. Sometimes it really is hard to know what to feel or how to let go

Had a friend who was super smart overdose. He was the person who started me on multi-tracking and was also a very talented guitar player. I also suffered from addiction for many years starting in my early days in high school. Then I found the woman of my dreams that gave me purpose and strength to become the better part of me. I still do have the occasional beer on special occasions but that is about it. My original song "The Change in Me" is about my struggles, and how I could see that drugs were changing the person I used to be. Glad you shared your story man I know it too well in my own life.

I was wanting to write to you about this song, since I heard the mp3 mix on your email the other day it just stuck with me. Its a very cool song and now I know why. Thanks again for letting us be a part of your music and for helping us out on this musical journey. This song is one hell of a homage. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks Edgar, I really appreciate it. I’m gonna be putting up more songs from this band and honestly they all come from a very difficult place. I’ve struggled with a lot of things in my life, addictions of my own, really hard relationships, and heartbreak. Back when I was writing these songs, I didn’t think I could feel things more than I did back then. I was wrong. I really appreciate the kind words and I’m grateful I can share some of my music with people who actually appreciate it. Posting this video is part of the grieving process. I appreciate everyone who commented in such a supportive way.

I still cherish the times I hung out with the Resistance/GLATE. I'll never forget the night Dave came to karaoke night and totally upstaged everyone there. High IQ and probably the most talented person I've ever known. I was saddened to hear of his passing, I'm really sorry man. Substance abuse is the only grief I know as of yet, it's taken too many good people. Glad you are doing well in Nashville. Cheers.

Hey Tommy, we always appreciated you coming out to shows and supporting the band. Dave actually had a great set of pipes on him. He was a great guitar player, bassist, singer and obviously an amazing drummer. Whatever instrument he played in any band, he was usually the best musician in the band. One time he started playing black dog by Led Zeppelin and singing it, and I was immediately blown away that he could actually hit those notes. I’m actually back in Virginia now. But life is good. Having dealt with addiction in my own life, it almost took everything I thought I ever wanted. I always had hope that Dave could get away from it, but I think his story can help people.

I miss Dave. He was a troubled soul but an amazing one too. I echo everything you said Chris. I cherish the time I got to play in a band with you and him.
