Emma, its fine to feel like that this time of year, spring is just around the corner and more daylight everyday. Every hour spent on the allotment now is worth two hours on spring. Keep up the good work.

Be thankful it wasn’t plastic with crazy hostas gluing it down. You just uncovered the reason I won’t use landscaping cloths of any kind because someday someone else will have to contend with it. Cardboard and heaps of wood chips do just fine for paths in my garden. A mic cover for wind would be helpful if you can.😊

I’m not on my Allotement yet … bit early for me. Too wet, too cold and I don’t want to trample over the soil … So my motivation is good, tucked in at home, looking through and sorting seeds, gardening books and seed catalogues in front of the log burner … oh and starting some seeds in propagator for indoors then to be transferred to poly tunnel when warm enough. Chillies, peppers and aubergine 😊

In America they gather up weeds and cut grass with two large clam shell shaped plastic things about the size of an old fashioned dustbin lid you drag them toward each other along the ground and scoop stuff up then use one lid to stop the pile from falling off the one underneath .i think maybe jessie at plot 37 has a set

Wow Emma, you found a pruning saw. I have one too. Mine folds and I use it for small tree pruning. Moaning is fine Emma! I do it every day. Jealous of your blue sky and sun. It’s Monday the 15th midday here in Tennessee USA and it’s been snowing for a day. Gray sky and white everywhere else. It’s -13 celsius here. 😬 When you’re done clearing your second allotment, please show us before and after. You’re tough and inspiring Emma! Cheers to you! 📣🎉👏🏼Cindy

I live in Ontario Canada and our city services are always trimming the trees away from the power lines. What they trim is put through a chipper, which is available to the public and they will deliver a load for free if requested. These chips are great for pathways. Just a suggestion. I am loving your channel and look forward to your metamorphosis into a gardener. It will be painful and wonderful at the same time. You’re doing great.
