History records that Ohio won the border skirmish between Ohio and Michigan and received the contested Toledo strip. Michigan was given the wilderness now known as the UP. That was the first time we snookered them and they've been pissed off ever since.

Roman, if you’re looking at it from a historical perspective the value of the UP is worth way more than the Toledo strip, especially from a mineral and natural resource perspective, let alone the park lands. Also, it was a pissing contest, not much of a war at all. Just as Boston would be little without the Yankees, OSU would not be much without Michigan. Michigan created the conference. Wins and losses- pretty even historically speaking. Heck 〽️🏈 created the forward pass. To suggest Michigan is at some kind of disadvantage to OSU is to not acknowledge the last 4 years. I like Michigan’s chances in the coming years. Good Luck in pursuit of your championship season, I’d rather see a BIG team get it again this year than an SEC team or the shanty independent Irish! Let me correct that for you: Not having to play the Wolverines again in the play offs fixed the Bucknuts problem . Howard didnt succumb to the pressure of the moment. He succumbed to the pressure Michigans DL managed to bring with just 4 men, freeing up another player for the backfield. Even their backups managed the same against Bama. A Qb cant throw dimes if he's running for his life all the time. He throws interceptions instread, or gets sacked. If Howard throws the ball around the field in the 2nd half of the UM game, he gets picked off 6 times instead of 2 times. So, no, the Bucknut Softies didnt get tougher, they just faced weaker DLs. It's easy to be tough against little kids.

As I wrote from other discussions, the change is not that Ohio State defense got better.. They just blueprinted what Michigan did to Ohio State to Oregon.. Michigan provided a means for Ohio State to combat explosive teams like Oregon (since Ohio State is an explosive team that wimpered at The Game).... Either case, Ohio State is cornered to win or bust... So I should expect them to play better since it is not Michigan.. lol

Nah. OSU just hasn't played a team since that punches them in the mouth. If you try to play the soft, finesse ball against them, the Bucks are really hard to beat. If you dominate them at the line of scrimmage, they are still the same, soft team that Ryan Day has built.

The embarrassment did cause them to play angry and yes, ohio needs to thank Michigan for the beating. Ohio lost because they cold not run or pass with Michigan only rushing 4.......they would lose if they played again today. Just imagine if offensive PI was called.....the score would have been worse. I do believe Michigan has the formula to beat Ryan Day teams. The last four years OSU has the same high flying offense with 5 star receivers and playmakers across the board. OSU is just not as physical as Michigan. We dominate the line of scrimmage defensively. PSU is Michigan "light" they keep it close with OSU because of the physicality. The formula is there so let's see if anyone else can do it like we do. Go Blue!
