The man's name is Mechamaru, or Kokichi Muta. He died because he lost in a fight against a curse named Mahito.

Mechamaru had a medical condition where he basically had paper skin and glass bones.he was in so much pain he couldn't leave a basement where he soaked in a medical tub. He controlled robots so he coild fight with the other members of the society he works for, and he fell in love with the girl in the video(she's a member of his sqaud), and she liked him to and wanted to meet him one day. He made a deal with the enemy to be healed so that he could have a chance to be with her, then he tried to take them out after he was healed, but he died in the fight. After he died, one of his contingency plan robots continued acting for and speaking for him to help in the final fight(this robot is the thing you see the girl holding) and the reason she starts crying and yelling, is because she knows he's dead, and has been talking yo his robot acting as him for comfort, but it tells him its about to turn off, and rhis is goodbye.so she screams and begs for him not to leave her. Then you see him appear sitting next to her in her imagination as the robot says its final words, that he wants her to be happy and live her life
