Both of these artists have the ability to effortlessly weave melody into some cutting drill lyrics..👇🏾 • • With this mixtape I expect some growth from “Call Me Loose” which in my eyes still stands as one of the strongest Drill introductions. With the exclusion of a few of the crossover moments no fan of Drill cannot say there were not HIT moments for them on there. What it left a vacancy for is for more of Loski’s story to be told, will it be delivered here? I doubt it but who knows😅👇🏾 • • Loski kicks off the mixtape in with the Bangelz esq “Big Man”a vibe which sits right in the box of few later tracks. In my opinion as a Drill artist by trade “Hammers” would’ve been better opener transitioning into the gruesome production of Hazards 2.0🤮. The more polished upgrade from the pure greeze of the original. The way he catches every drop on this one is dumb 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏾 “HOW DO YOU ENCOURAGE THEIR FIBBIN!!” 😅 🔂..👇🏾 • • Of course when listening to this mixtape the expectancy was to hear chinging, winning scores and barbies. Although, there are sprinkles of reflection on “Full Stop” with Loski highlighting how the passing of Latz left some shock & depression 🙏🏾..The second clear standout of the project is “Boasy” follows this enhanced masterfully by @tiggsdaauthor .This stands above above all the low-cut clones “Fashion Avenue” “Hoes N Bands” & “Something New”..👇🏾 • • Listening this second project I can see the lane he’s carving watering the Drill lyrics down to sound more playful. At times this gets repetitive with certain lyrics repeated in as many as humanly possible. All for songs like “DBD”🔥🔥though this sounds nothing like anything I’ve heard from before. I hear you but I’m gonna disagree. Drill is still down to the lyrical content and possibly the rhyme style. US and UK Drill music have both changed in 8 years and the content matter is still grim and it’s not the just down to the 808s because someone else can say, “Trap is when the beats got 808 beats and fast hi hats init” But 808 drums are all over house music and rap music before you were even born. A song doesn’t become Afro beats because the artist on it speaks in a west African accent.
