If Jake takes the star from Los, he'd still need 2 stars and for Raf to not win any. It was the same chance either side. You just add in the fact he didn't want Los to win, that adds it more to take from him in a split scenario.

SPOILERS & BREAKDOWN: @2:34:30 When Jake had the decision to steal Los or Raf’s star Everyone assumed Jake would have won +2 bonus stars from winning the most mini games & earning the most coins. In which at the time Jake’s smartest decision would to be steal Raf’s star. Which would have led to Jake or Los being the winner depending on the coin count. (THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN. SO THAT DOESN’T MATTER. JUST A HYPOTHETICAL IN THE MOMENT.) In the end, Los, Jake, Raf, & Nick all won +1 star at the end. The decision for who wins/loses between RAF or Los was really on Jake’s hands. If Jake chose to steal Raf’s star over Los in that moment. Los & Raf would have 6 stars each in the end. Then it depends on who had more coins between the two to determine the winner.

My opinion on teaming up on a player or trash talking back and forth. It’s all part of the game. Don’t be surprised if you made enemies with every move you do or thing you say, it can backfire anytime. Did Jake ruin the game? It all depends on your perspective. It ruined the game for Los & the people rooting for him. Unfortunately. But, It was clearly more personal to Jake for Los to lose. & that’s his decision.

Just an idea: don’t always play with classic bonus stars! Then everyone will know which bonus stars will be active at the end. You guys were already theorizing about the coin and minigame bonus stars so it led to some decisions being based on who everyone thought would win it at the end. Turn on the all bonus star setting, it can lead to a lot of random bs and could potentially win someone the game if they were behind. Also, I would go back to horror land again. You guys know how to play now and have strategies so I think it would make for a good game
