Lossburn reservoir Wild Camp, Hilleberg Niak

Scots Nomad heads for the Ochils for a relaxing overnighter, this time joined by Paul from Ochil Hills Walkers with his trusty Hilleberg allak2.
Initial plan was to camp on Bengengie, but after reaching Colsnaur they decide to drop to lower ground to avoid the high winds.
A relaxing camp at nearby Lossburn reservoir.
There is a lack of footage as I broke my tripod at the beginning of the outing.

Lovely pitching spot and nice morning. I struggle to switch off my mind when wild camping so don't get much sleep. Especially if the wind gets up and I've forgotten my ear plugs!

I usually lose my earplugs at some point through the night. I’m finding the more I camp on my own the more relaxing it is getting , easier each time … Saying that, I think a small pet of our brain stays active listening etc, just as a safety

Nice relaxing camp. Personally, I sleep well maybe 50% of the time. The wind, elements or bad pitch,… will cause me to not sleep so well. Cheers Sean 👍

I think a small part of us is always alert. Wee video turned out not too bad considering there was a serious lack of footage, oh and working with another broken tripod lol. Was a nice setting for a camp ⛺️ Thanks again Alex, hope you enjoy your time at the lakes, ATB 👍

Curious when you’re thinking it’s too chilly one way why don’t you just swing to the opposite urself round or is it , too much effort once your settled probably. Looks a nice camp. Thanks for sharing

Yeah, I should really have got out of the tent and turned the sleep pad around, I think tiredness had taken over and I just couldn’t be bothered by that point. Maybe next time I really should make the effort 👍😂

Aye, it’s the same spot lol, cheers for the link, going to enjoy watching that one. It’s a well known well used spot, same with the farm ruins lol. That’s the reservoir that you guys were eying up when you both camped on top of Dumyat… I’m surprised I even posted this one as no real footage as such, broken tripod etc, still worth a look, glad you enjoyed it bud, ATB 👍
