This is the 5 year in a row I have watched this video. Granite river route has become our go to route and I always watch this each year to get pumped up for our trip. Thanks for making this! Best video on the granite river route on KZbin!

I’ve watched this 40 times in a couple years. I love watching people do stupid sh*t that I’d end up doing

Nice video, beautifully photographed. I took the same trip with my then teenage son in 2012. For what it is worth, the portage you missed that sent you on a day long hike through the rocks and muck, is not an easy one to find.

+Stan Popelar Hey Stan- Yeah thats what the other guys told us. It can be tough to read the maps and reference what you actually see at times. I think downloading the maps into a phone or a gps is going to have to happen for future trips.

@@adventureoutdoors4251 that was some seriously low water. I think the last portage before the falls was probably more to the right. Where you were walking would be wet at normal water levels. You will the telling the story of this trip to your nephews in 25 years. I know from experience. It won't be your last meme able trip. Next time go lighter and rent a Winona Minnesota 3. Three many canoe. You will add at least a mile per hour

Next time just leave the canoe in the water and walk it down the shallow side of the horsetail rapids. With three people, it's not too bad. The portage you actually took was on the Canadian side. There is one on the american side just west of those rapids. That campsite you had on Devil's Elbow is a great campsite. Great video! I like the map details.

The lake isn't there for you to wash dishes. Bring the lake water up into the woods, and dump the old water 150 feet from the lake. No food, soap, etc. goes into the lake. If this is difficult for you, ask any outfitter how to do dishes properly in the boundary waters.

Can't rely on a gps, but man it sure would have helped you out. Great video.

We were alluded to our blunder in a previous post and have since changed our trashy ways. Thanks for watching!
