This music is heavenly. There is no other word to describe the beauty of "Lost April" on the harp. I get choked up every time I hear it. So, what do I do? I play it like 3 times in succession, tears in my eyes, and longing for such a world as this music suggests. Purely heavenly music of the angels.

Just when you think you know Cary Grant as an actor--the mugging clown, leading man--he adds another role of mystery to his acting crown. Amazing. I'm not a harpist but his mimicking playing the harp is amazing.
@sandydriscoll6360
@sandydriscoll6360 8 жыл бұрын
+windstorm1000 The harpist was Gail Laughton. Cary Grant's head was simply superimposed over Gail's hands. I know this because I recently found out that Gail lived in my LA home prior to my moving here in 1975. He was an incredibly talented harpist, who also taught Harpo Marx how to play, because Harpo could never read music.

I only saw the movie because I found out that Gail lived in my house for 13 years, and I am fascinated by that! I live in the LA hills and there are 39 (yes, really!) steps up to my front door. I like to sit in my living room and wonder where he placed his harp. And how he got it up all those steps! :-) And I love the movie, too!

Sandy Driscoll how neat! Thank you for the info. I won’t call it trivia because it is anything but trivial to me. I thought they probably had someone playing the harp sitting underneath Cary and had his arms cut off in the shot so as not to see the elbows and the other arms from below. I didn’t know they could do that back then with the film. Especially because the ice skating rink scene was not faked very well!! But it didn’t matter. It was a great movie and he (Cary) was just as wonderful in it as he was in all of his movies. I adore him! 🖤

I'm so glad that Cary Grant played the angel. I don't find David Niven to be attractive at all whereas I can understand Julia being attracted to Dudley. Loretta loves to use the word SURELY in all of her films thus appearing cultured. I need to quit reading about her as I'm beginning to not like her much as a person. This is a great film though.
