Seeing a guide that recommends desperate salvation and heavy armor first makes me happy. I see way too many guides say awakening 3 is the most important and I cann't help but wonder if they even play the class.

I think the reason for this is early content is too easy so awakening charges up 3bubble buff faster. But you're right that t3 priorities should be HA and DS

Awakening + HA is fine. DS 3 is definitely not needed this early unless you suck at the game and tank every mechanic lmao.

Agreed. You already get your awakening skill to a 3 min CD with maxed swiftness build. I adore my heavy armor. I’m able to shield melee safely without worrying about dying.

@@CurrehMoFo I argue it's ore valuable early since people don't know mechanics and die a lot. Healing 24% of your hp to them off of a single bubble is amazing especially if you can maintain the bubble buildup and arguably saves the team way more than people realize

if you have yellow wealth rune you can kinda go by with desperate salvation 1-2, but if u get 3 anyways ur team will not die to anything stat except wipe mechanics if you consistently heal

Nice tips. there is really only one skill that's interchangeable. rhythm Buck, Prelude, or for me dissonance(for situations where I need to damage stuff like petrified party members or destroying yellow orbs). Only problem with playing bard, is when your party runs away from your buff or heal.

I absolutely love being a Bard, knowing I'm giving my DPS boosts and being the clutch save with Rhapsody or a quick heal with serenade really keeps me on my toes while keeping track of everyone's positioning so I have to stay close to then. It's a minigame within itself but it's so satisfying keeping the team alive and keeping those buffs up and live

A friend is maining bard and I tried alting one. First thing I noticed is how difficult the shield timing is when the party is spreading out all around the boss. So not sure if it's always the bard who is bad (one of the first comments made) or if the class needs more communication with the team to work well.

Heavy armour 3 is a must cuz a good bard face tank enemy whenever shield is up. The hardest part about playing bard is to take over the fight by using abilities at the perfect time. The biggest difference between a good bard player and an average one is knowing when to hold on what ability and use them at the right time.

Burst DPS also need to learn when to use their abilities when playing with Bard. I main Shock Scrapper, and I see way too many people throw their burst out without any synergies or buffs up. Makes an insane difference.

Got invited to a party for Oblivion island to fight Aporas, had a guy blown away in chat from my awakening Symphonia shield saving his life toward the end. Not sure if it was the timing or the massive shield size of the shield LOL with me having 1325gs and him 583 or so he must’ve felt invincible. Easily over 150 hours in game and first time in lost ark had someone thank me/notice my effort/heals verbally - totally worth it just for that. Sad my t2 gear is all gone and can’t spam awakenings as often, I feel many bards don’t use it often enough it’s so cheap to use and satisfying.

I honestly didnt think I'd like bard. I made it after like 4 other characters, and now she is my highest ilvl character and first one into t2. It's very fun, alot of clutch moments, and lots of decisions.

I agree that bard at T2 is really fun since you have enough stats for high swiftness, especially with heavy armor (I have seen heavy armor purple books sold at 75-80 gold during this event period), you tank like a gunlancer, with desperate salvation 3 you heal ridiculous amounts even at bubble 1, and get mvp quite frequently in guardian raids if your team eats alot of damage. Just need a dps main to clear story to use knowledge transfer

tbh I think where we are in content right now in NA where meter gain is very slow in t1/t2/ where we are in t3 that Desperate Salvation and Awakening is more important than heavy armor. Most bosses aren't going to one shot bard either way unless it's a wipe mechanic in which case heavy armor won't save you. I think Spirit Absorption is very important right now too because we don't have the amount of swiftness yet to make our casting/move speed good without it. I get consistent compliments and MVP on my bard and Spirit Absorption is a huge part of that imho. Later on it becomes less valuable b/c you can get so much swiftness and a set that gives you movement speed but we just don't have that. A cheap way to gear in t3 for bard atm that is very good is: 2x Epic Desperate Salvation equipped, ability stone for Spirit Absorption and Awakening and then accessories for the same. You avoid the very high costs of Salvation accessories at the cost of wasting 3 points double equipping the epic engraving. I think for KR Heavy Armor is the right thing to choose but in NA I think it's a waste I'm already the last one alive far too often and unable to finish the boss cuz of my DPS. But casting quicker with Spirit Absorption can save my teammates.

I just started my Bard as my first alt, Main is 1390 Shadowhunter and well im used to things exploding left and right, but as I did my first bard chaos dungeons it felt really slow. For Bard, It reduces 50% for yourself while casting but applies a 10% Absorb and 75% Damage reduction shield to any allies inside the aoe for 3 seconds

Hello! I have a question about counter on bard in general. I noticed in your gameplay footages you have rhythm buckshot in your slots, does that mean you'll actively try to go to the front of the boss to land the counter as well?

Yes, since bards goal is not doing dps often countering for your team is good. But make sure you keep doing your buff cycles

Also i would like to know why you think endurance isnt good on bard. Bigger heals and shields while getting tankier on one of the squishiest builds sounds pretty good for me. I am trying to aim for 50 special, 30 swiftness and 20 endurance and it works good in early t3 so far..

Reducing the cooldown at a high speed is the key, and specialization is concerned with the buffs given and the efficiency of the amount of bubble increase obtained.

Endurance stat applies only to individuals. It doesn't effect to the entire party member. In order to all party members to receive the heal+shield effect of endurance stat, all party members must use endurance stat, although they lose their DPS stats.

@@Slag1sh Heavy armor doubles the DEF factor of the bard from 80% to 160%, making you VIT factor 3.04 instead of 1.52, that way you can make bigger shields and heals.

Paladin is easier to get heals to party vs the tighter spacing required for Bard. But it's a double edged sword. A Bard can pick and choose a teammate to save vs a Paladin who is more geared towards total party AoE healing over time. Bard shields are very good when spec'd right. Bards also have to juggle three bar gauges and then choose damage or healing. A Paladin can do both because they are separate skills. It's also easier to keep debuffs on a boss with Paladin. Some will argue that the Bard Harp of Rhythm skill negates most of this advantage. Many higher parties want a Paladin over Bard in end game because of DPS checks and skipping boss stages but when learning encounters Bards offer more forgiveness. Right now good Bards are doing great with lower spec and experienced players. But many of the differences are negated by gear that will come eventually as covered by the video. Both need engravings and and proper setups. Bards are the OG support and Paladin came later. Like many Lost Ark classes the later release is better built/easier/efficient. So I recommend Paladin but lets face it the game needs more supports so a Bard should still get party invites. P.S. Try a Bard out in the class selector. If you hate their music and attack call outs that might be enough of a decider. My brother and girlfriend both tease me with Doe Fa Fa So Rei Mi bard sounds whenever I play her.

For storyline content you should just max out your Specialization and look for pure damage. The support paladin isn't needed until post story raids
