After playing monk in D3 I am super interested in playing Martial Artist! I have no clue which one would be the best for me.

Sorry for the wall of text. Altho it's a difficult comparison since in D3 builds focus on like 1-2 skills while here you have to use your whole kit, I would say wardancer is the one which is the closest to monk from D3. Fast paced, flashy playstyle with elementals attacks (mostly lightning and fiery) here and there and very good mobiity. It gives a nice buff to the team, but don't expect supportive options like D3 monk has. It's also relatively easy to play compared to other melee classes as you don't rely on back attacks as much as others (I'm looking at you Striker) and her meta build makes for an overall easier and more relaxed experience. Striker is pretty much the hardmode version of Wardancer, relying heavily on back attacks and having extremely low mobility if you play his meta build, and it can feel painfully slow in the early tiers as he relies on cooldown gems to smoothen his gameplay. Scrapper feels like an heavier version of Wardancer, altho its class identity is different (resource bars to juggle instead of builder-spender concept of wardancer). You are a lot tankier and something very nice is that she is one of the few classes that actually has two perfectly balanced builds in end-game, one which emphatizes the use of "shock" abilities (green ones, long animation and big dick numbers) while the other focuses on the use of stamina skills (yellow ones, very quick animation, the build focuses more on consistent damage). Mobility is excellent, especially if you play the Taijutsu build (yellow build) as you have low cooldowns and you will look to have high Agility stat (quickness in the western version I think) which is a stat that increases your movement capabilities. Soulfist is literally Goku. If you wanna play Goku go for it :P Jokes aside (not really, it really looks and feels like a DBZ character) Soulfist is sort of a melee/medium range hybrid and arguably one of the hardest classes in the game, as you have to juggle a variety of buffs while handling your Identity skill (called Hype in our version, sigh...) and having to actually do the boss mechanics like everyone else in the meantime. It's also a class that relies EXTREMELY HARD on her Awakening (the spirit bomb looking thing), which is the single hardest hitting ability in the whole game, but with power comes great responsibility.. meaning that if you miss that, your damage will suffer tremendously.

@@Yamikitsune Yes, yes it is. You need very good knowledge of encounters to know when you can use it or when to hold it. Also you need to be mindful to use it when properly buffed from your team (and yourself). Every class brings abilities called sinergies i think that grant buffs to other teammates, some have very high uptime while others are shorter but usually stronger, and you obviously need to make the most out of those aswell. As I was saying it's kind of a complicated class to play properly :P

Same thing happened in KR, now it's one of the lowest played simply because the class is so difficult to play a lot of KR players don't really feel rewarded on the class. The synergy is kinda meh on it too so not too many SM's about at end game.

Yea and soon they will understand this class isn't made for average player. This class has a lot that needs to be looked after if you want to play it properly, her ultimate is also a big part of class identity as it does wayyyyy more damage as any other ultimate of other classes, but it has a downside of having FIVE second cast time so yea, missing your huge dmg ball of annihilation is a very frequent among Soulfist players.

@@Sairento-kun Sorry I dont wanna sound annoying but no, it's not easy as any class. There are classes that are multiple times harder than others. Battlemaster is on the easier side, compare its ease of use to for example dead eye or even striker/soulfist to stay among the martial artists and it's not even close. It takes so much more effort to play these classes properly. The content being hard is a different thing.

You change your class accordingly, you can not change the gender of your class. Male and female versions of a class are also called differently, for example Striker (male) and Wardancer (female). You pick them from the start, before you customize your character.

@@v4v777 Scrapper is female only atm. Right now the only classes with a male and female version are Wardancer(f)/Striker(m), Gunslinger(f)/Dead Eye(m). But they want to release more in the future. Be aware though that those classes are similar but different at the same time. For example, Dead Eye and Gunslinger have similar skills and identities but Dead Eye is basically a melee and forced to do back attacks whereas Gunslinger is ranged and has no positional requirements.

Technically one of which is a gender swap. They clearly had a limit on the number of classes they could release and wanted to get all the gender swaps in the game, but you can't cut the soul fist or scrapper because they're iconic. So Lance Master gets the axe, for now.
