I wonder what would happen if Micheal was just faking the lack of power and he was actually subtly influencing those around him to eventually give him the outcome he wants while still keeping the whole "needs to work on his magic" facade. What if he is actually a bad guy who is controlling the "bad guy," like Darth Sidious and Count Dooku?

Oh Xylo... If there's one thing that I know, it's that powerful good guys tend to attract powerful bad guys. And a good guy PRETENDING to be powerful (like you just did) still tends to attract ACTUAL powerful bad guys (like the necromancer lady). And there's a SMALL problem with your argument in regards to your (little) "effectiveness" against zombies. If you've seen zombie movies, you should know that when their a structure between them and their meal, they will just try to plow/force their way through that structure, with NO pause or hesitation. So when presented with an illusion of, say, a wall - they won't slow down or pause even a bit.

Shay soon Maybe, but if those illusionary people are moving, then the zombies have to catch up first before they can pass through them. So it's a good distraction technique for getting zombies off of your tail... unless they're the kind of zombies that can smell... in which case, illusions won't do much good, period.

So they said the the illusion magic can’t interact with real life but with the box they push it instead of going through it, now xylo could have been moving it with them but some of the group were huffing like they were interacting with it. Could xylo have creation (maybe conjuring) instead of illusion? I’m probably looking to far into this... Edit:I didn’t account for the creation suddenly disappearing so probably not. They also could have just thought that they where interacting with it or the sound could just be from standing in such a small space.

I actually couldn't have an illusion that large move fluidly, so I had to keep making a new box illusion around us, thats why we had to stand in specific spots, so we wouldn't poke out.
