I swear to god Charlie's death broke me for about a week. He was my personal favourite character since the start and I absolutely adored him...and the way he dies is just...gahhh..he finally proved he wasnt weak, that he could save people. He saved everyone and that scene at the end just shows his relief and peace of it all. It was just so well executed my heart freaking died man... :'(

Life was so unfair to him and when you thought he was starting to have it good he sacrificed for his mates, something died in the show when Charlie's character died..

Eko was no longer needed in purgatory island because he finally past his test. Everyone who died on the island had actually just past the “test” that the island demanded of them. For example, Boone past his test to let go of Shannon. Shannon past his test to put others before herself.

A lot of people hated Nikki and Paulo so much that some of them went so far as to harass the writers and producers and finally they’ve had enough that they dedicated an entire episode as a filler literally just to kill them off. Fans were in tears when that particular episode aired. Tears of joy, that is. I still don’t really understand why they were so universally hated though. My guess is because they’re introduced as characters who were already part of the people on the plane but they’re obviously new characters and they’ve never had a spotlight in the show until just now. In other words, they were absolute bullshit characters and fans were frustrated by the lazy writing.

@@opium_00pium7 They had to write him out because the actor had a lot of personal issues going on and did not want to be on the show. The reason why the Man in Black killed him the first time is because he realized that he could not manipulate Eko into doing his bidding. Originally, he viewed him as a ruthless drug dealer that could serve a purpose. The second time, he realized that his resolve and faith in God was too powerful to manipulate and at that point he became a threat.

Boone, Shannon, and Sun/Jin were definitely the hardest. Boone was unexpected just because I didn't think they'd start killing off main characters that soon, and it was just emotional in general. Shannon just because it was so out of fucking nowhere, and Sun/Jin because they were my favorite characters and it was genuinely the saddest. Jin never even got to meet his daughter :(

If Charlie ran out and closed the door, the rooms would flood and they would have both drowned. Charlie knew that at least one of then had to survive to get back to Jack. And also, Charlie could not have swam out of that window because he was already in there for a while, and he barely made INTO the place, so him squeezing out the window, and this time...SWIMMING UP...he was going to die regardless.

Shannon's was the saddest.. Everyone she ever loved belittled her and let her down. They said she was worthless and useless when she was neither. No one was there to support her, no one to turn to until she met Sayid. But she still had her doubts about Sayid seeing as everyone had let her down. She put up defenses (the bitchiness) so she wouldnt let anyone get close enough to hurt her. No ever believed in her, apart from Sayid. But she was the only one that could help Sayid escape his past, too.

I think Charlie was forced to close the door on himself to spare Desmond's life. By the look of things, it can only be locked from the inside. If that door weren't tightly fastened, it would have burst open and flooded the whole area. Desmond wouldn't have been able to escape if that were to happen.

Rose and Bernard were smart enough to stay out of it. I partially agree with you that Bernard came off as whiny in their flashback episode but he let it go knowing that he no longer needed to do something to cure Rose’s cancer. Thus they lived a longer happy and peaceful life on the Island together till the very end. 😌

I always viewed that 'he could have got out of the window' thing as a technical error i.e. making the window too big. The idea that Charlie 'had' to die never sat well with me; I always liked the interpretation that, to get Claire (the opportunity of) rescue, he had to put himself in a situation he couldn't get out of; his death was just a consequence of getting into that situation.

The Space Team he was trying to save Claire and Aaron. Des said that he had a vision of charlie drowning, then claire and aaron getting on a helicopter and flying away (which i dont think ever even happened). he told charlie that if he didnt die then claire and aaron would never be rescued

Doctor4077 Game of Thrones has to take the cake for me, on both counts. Charlie's death will forever stick in my mind, but other than that no deaths really hit me that hard. Game of Thrones however has moments that have rocked me to the core, such as S4xE9 and the season 5 finale (please do not post spoilers for those who haven't seen GoT yet; this is a LOST video, not a GoT video).

Doctor4077 Great question. And I'm really torn about this because I actually acknowledge that Game of Thrones is a better than LOST in alot of ways, but I feel like LOST was the first show that made me say "HOLLY SHIT" multiple times like no other show before. Game of Thrones ofcourse killed more of my favorite characters. But because LOST has ended, I have to say for now it made me feel the most. But maybe this will change when Game of Thrones ends. :)

Doctor4077 Well, I gotta say Game of Thrones. Spoilers for both Lost and Game of thrones all seasons ahead. While I loved Charlie, Sayid, Jin, Sun.. Robb's death hit me the hardest everrr. I cried like a baby for hours both times I watched it alone and with a friend. Ned's death was alsoo very very sad since he was my favorite character at that time. Oberyn's and Catelyn's stung. And the newest death at the end of the season hurt even through I don't think it will last, because if it will ( but there is no wayy, books and other stuff prove otherwise ) I will cry like a baby. My new favorite character since Robb dead, but the character will come back. He has too. Game of thrones had way more shocking deaths than Lost, and while i love both shows, I think in my opinion Game of thrones is superior.
