Question: What makes a guy who lives in BC/Canada go to NZ for run a DH trail? NZ is unique of course but BC is not less.

Comes down to the fact that Canada has big snow in the winter, which is great for snowboarding, Hence "Whistler Bike Park" becomes Whistler Ski Field.. Not so great for Downhill MTB.. So in Northern Hemisphere winter, alot of riders come down to Queenstown for Southern Hemisphere summer.. Queenstown & Maydena in Tasmania are both used for testing new bikes in the off-season/pre season.. Plus the terrain available in Queenstown & Wanaka is just as big as BC or French Alps, with the ability to link tracks into a 1500m descent from a chair lift bike park which is crazy!
