Thanks for the stories. I always enjoy these tales but having been a chaser of these stories the light I used to get in my eyes has dimmed. Too many times they are full of big holes when closely examined. For Instance, knowing the zeitgeist of the day, many of these things would have been big news at the time, yet one can find no mention of them in the local newspapers of the time. Ive chased a few stage coach robbery stories but upon becoming a little more sophisticated in my tactics and researching news papers, no mention is found of the event. Seeing how they gossiped about everything, even when so and so visited town, something like a robbery is headline news. Another thing I've found and should be noted by any serious seeker is their propensity to embelish! They were a generation of Trumps! Lol. Every discovery was the biggest, greatest, best thing ever! 😂 As one reporter put it, it was a big, wide, beautiful world!

The miners in these stories behave in the strangest manner, and they "all" follow the same patterns. Unless there were a group of Natuve Americans bearing down on me, I know I would make clear markers and a map to be certain I coukd track my return successfully. Without GPS or a Compass, one need note the Date od the year and position of The Sunrise/Sunset and the common Stars in the Evening Sky. "A knife, pencil, ink, and paper or hide, were all common tools back then" ... "?" I just cant imagine "so many" shared such lack of "environmental recall" Were the just not "sharp" or was there a rash of "daftness"? Could Education have made a difference? I really think "sharp is intelligence" and it is a natural gift, that can benefit from Education, because I know a number of PhD's that couldn't give directions to their house, and wouldnt know if its on the northeast or northwest side of the block. Aptitude 🔑 (requires getting the power switch turned on)
