Lost in Space (1965) Review PART 1 (the Jupiter 2, other Irwin stuff, Fantastic Voyage discussed)

Retro Hollywood looks at Irwin Allen's most famous science fiction series Lost in Space (1965). I like LIS for several reasons ranging from the John Williams music cues to the Robot to the Irwin Allen quirks. But my first LIS video will look at my favourite character in the series - spaceship Jupiter 2. Yes, a spaceship can be called a character in the show, but not all would describe Jupiter 2 that way.
Lost in Space is the main topic of conversation but Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Time Tunnel, The Towering Inferno (1974), Fantastic Voyage (1966), 30s Flash Gordon serials, 30s Buck Rogers serials and even Star Wars (1977) get a mention.
But the wonderful Jupiter 2 photos are the star of this video. Enjoy

I agree that LIS effects- and music- were better than in Star Wars or Star Trek. The LIS episodes were more dramatic, concise, effective.

@@donaldcrabtree6259 The Alexander Courage scores for Star Trek season one were very good. Season two had some great music (Mirror Mirror, etc) but season three of Star Trek had some less pleasing scores. Thanks for watching.

Well, I absolutely AGREE with all you mentioned. And well said too mate! I think we all have that special appreciation for the "Jupiter II" You know, I've always wondered what the actual size of the Jupiter 2 would be, if it were real. The outside diameter... What would it measure! How tall would it stand from ground to upper hull while standing on it's landing -legs? Any ideas mate?
