Harness horses don't start from a stationary gate like ridden racehorses do. Instead the gate is attached to the car. They are all brought up to speed behind the car and then at the part of the track where the race starts the gates fold forward and the car gets out of the way.

@Desireeholloway3353 basically it helps make sure that everyone gets a fair start in harnessracing, makes everyone speed up to the same speed then the car speeds off so the race can commense

Who sees the problems in this race!! Very big no no! Definitely a good horse but he hiked around corners an his style is stiff

Doesn't really matter, she did it faster than the rest of the horses and did not go off stride.
