I forgot to say in the intro that I had to do something while recording the reaction couple of months ago. I do these videos for fun but if you have any comments or constructive criticism on how I can make better content please do.
Also, give me suggestions (prefer newer albums)

You're probably too young to have experienced the 2008 financial crash, but the apocalyptic feel of this album was very fitting for late 2008 and 2009.

Underoath’s music at this point felt like the most important moment in the post hardcore/metalcore scene. They were larger than life and everything they were doing was next level. Hell they even managed to play MTV with THIS KIND OF MUSIC. Pretty awesome.

The album is very cohesive like you said, but I think the coolest thing about it is that it is a lot more experimental than define the great line. That in and of itself makes for songs that cater to differing moods. When you’re pissed or looking for that surge of energy, you have The only survivor, desperate times, and breathing in a new mentality. For the more jammy you’re taking your time driving somewhere MOOD, you have emergency broadcast and desolate earth. Then, for the more emotional crybaby moods, you have too bright to see and the created void. This record is eclectic without feeling disjointed which is something not many bands in that scene can achieve or have achieved. The same can be said about define the great line but even more so for this album IMO Excited for you to react the next stuff

The time this came out was perfect. 2008, The world was crashing and burning but this was the perfect mood setter for any feeling you had. I enjoyed this album so much, and still do quite regularly. This defines me so much more than any album and I fucking love Underoath for giving me and the world this album.

So @ 34:00 that is Aaron their drummer doing cleans (yes he sings and plays drums live) but @34:49 that is Spencer, their screamer doing the cleans. edit: @ 36:22 It's Spencer doing the cleans in the foreground and Aaron is in the back doing the (we're so run down.) edit:2 An easier way to try and tell the vocalists apart is @ 30:40 when Spencer screams and sort of transitions into cleans for a minute and then at 30:49 it's Aaron. Then @ 31:00 I'd back to Spencer doing cleans. Then again at 31:11 it's Spencer doing the "when this thing breaks" and the very next line @ 31:19 is Aaron again. Those parts are some of the most obvious as to the difference in each singers voice if you want to know which member is doing which cleans.

The next album from them should be "Disambiguation" and then "Erase Me". As for "Act of Depression" and "Cries of the Past" (in that order) which were their first recorded albums (from 1999 & 2000 respectively) I would say definitely listen to them if you want to see where they came from, but I would probably suggest to just listen to them after their upcoming album "Voyeurist" since the sound is shockingly different, and by that, I don't mean the quality is bad, but rather that the genre is almost black / death metal like.

I'm a define the great lines fanboi but this albums mix is incredible. Something to note with this album is that Spencer was going through drug problems and was feeling very dismissed by his christian peers at the time. It caused Aaron to leave the band and the following album was their darkest and heaviest material.

Funny you mention Beartooth, because Caleb Shomo references Underoath as a huge influence a lot and LITSOS as one of his favorite albums ever.

Oh and a really cool thing about this album is this: there are NO chorus or hooks in any track. None. It’s a journey that really elevates this album to always be fresh and never feel repetitive cause, it’s not lol

A lot of the lyrics go to really dark places regardless. I think it's more the Dallas Taylor era of the band that the lyrics sounded preachy.
