The oldest gold mine in Oregon was marked, 1535. Found in the Ochoco Mtns of NE Oregon. Impressive considering since 1492, that expeditions had gone that far into wilderness and native trail. Conquistador history is a fascinating time that no one wants to talk about. Great content to your research!

In 1993 I was hard core metal dector enthusiast in north Mississippi. From north Alabama to west Helena Arkansas. I found a lot of things iron. Had no idea what it was. Just dropped it. Only found one coin. Very small. 9 miles west of reinzi Mississippi. Silver. 1696. Spanish. Lot of civil war artifacts.

If you google the Henry mountains supposedly there’s a lost Spanish mine there somewhere I heard.

Anywhere the Spaniards built a fort there was a rich mine nearby. There are remnants all over the southwest as well as symbols leading the way to mines and vaults if you can decipher them..

Yes, the Spaniard conquistadors were everywhere searching for wealth and spreading catholicism it is amazing the ground they covered! I live in Arizona and have been far north and you see these like towns and churches that are called St. John's, and St. Michaels, Joseph City etc. and also heard about the revolts here and there with the Indians all over.

I love your videos. I try not to be critical, but I did want to point out one thing that most people today get wrong. You said the Spanish were in Utah long before any white men came and way before the U.S. expanded. Technically I believe the Spanish are white. They’re from Spain. I’ve even argued with Mexicans about it. I have a friend and her mom is from Spain. She’s got beautiful olive skin. But she’s white cause her moms from Spain but if she came from Mexico then politically she’d be considered Latino. It’s like hmm. Spaniards came from europe. Like their descendants throughout Latin America are at least part white. I remember in college learning about how they had a caste system etc and there were even differences between Spaniards born in Spain being higher up then those born in Latin America. It’s sad that history at least when I went to school Never taught how Africans or the moores ruled Spain for a long time. That’s maybe how Spanish got a browner or less white skin the the English or Dutch etc. but ya i just find it interesting how people consider people from Spain as white but not people from Latin America.

Castilian Spanish if you're ever seen them can be porcelain white, and the women some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, with their black eyebrows and hair juxtaposed to that incredible skin. You may see them in California today, as I've seen a few. And hmmmm, nevertheless, with a latin last name they "qualify" for all the minority rides available in the USA and Canada. Funny, in a way, as they're white all right. We had an exchange student from Bogota, and she was whiter the me, a Norwegian/Swede! (Bogota, the elites in power since the 1500's, and the interior cities Medellin and Pablo Excobar, native latinos and dark. Inotherwords, cowboys and indians just a different stage play, and still the fight is going on today, just AK's and drugs instead of jade clubs and obsidian knives.
