I've driven that road many times. We used to be able to drive right up to the lake and there were no tables. It's really low in this video. It filled that whole bowl in the 1980s.

I just went there recently a month or so ago in the evening and took a quick dip…happy to see the water level is pretty deep. Glad you enjoyed the video and my song lol. You can use the song on your visit to Lost Lake if you like 🙂

Hate to spoil the fun but....., We used to go here in the 1980s, It was bigger then , kind of a biker hangout, and the legend of super deep water was scary even back then. One day I saw some divers from the army's core of engineers and went to ask how deep was this fault line abyss was. I wish I never asked, they told me it was max depth of 17ft, and now it's even less.

Been a SB County Resident all my 34 years and I used to love to hear about lost lake. The stories, myths, legends, being shared around a campfire. Then I grew up and realized it’s all bs. Lost lake went from a place of magic to a place of drugs, sex, and a fucking drifters convention spot. Not cool drugs like trees or a few hydros, but lowlife shit like crack and lots of meth. And the sex is the type you wouldn’t brag about, don’t go there without protection. Oh yeah, SPOILER ALERT* the lake isn’t bottomless or else it would be a volcano. Yeah it sucks growing up.

I just checked it out a few weeks ago and the water levels were up from the drought but I’ve seen Lost Lake higher. maybe it went up after all the rain. Let’s hope 🙂

Izzak Walton I’ve heard that. I think with low water levels they stopped stocking it. It dried up completely in 2016. It’s too bad. I went there for the first time three or four years ago and it was really deep. Hoping it can return to those levels.
