WOW! I grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Due to a motorcycle accident in the 10th grade I didn't graduate until 1967, Highlands High, "Go OWLS", LOL! One of HEB's grandsons hit me! At 19 the only job available came with green boxers and an all expense paid "Senior Trip" to Ft. Polk La. While waiting for Uncle Sam to get my room ready I took a job operating a drill rig setting guard rail for the road expansion to Lost Maples, soon to be opened. Great post!

OMG. We are at our home in Central Texas in February riding out the cold. I'm watching your fantastic videos dreaming of warmer weather and making my list for camping gear. My husband just this very moment comes out screaming that he is stung by a bee!!!! I am scrambling for tweezers and stuff! How crazy is that?!!!!!!!!!! Everybody, make sure you have updated first aid supplies at home (LOL) and on your camping trips ! I am truly loving your videos!

Like the shelter over the picnic table. What a good idea to wrap ham sammich in aluminum foil and heat up over the fire. Hadn't thought of that before. And the smore's dip. Yum. Too bad it was a bit hard to dip from. Maybe if it had been stirred up a bit? That cup is really pretty. She made that? Too cool! Suppose one angle of the rock resembled a monkey, but other side looked like an eel or something LOL. Comfort pizza. All pizza comforts me lol. A daisy in the seat. As an outsider, I feel like that would mean my seat was now hers haha.
@TexasFamilyCamping4 жыл бұрын
stir it up a bit, that's a brilliant idea, thank you. Yes, Tania made that cup, I told her that one looks so great it would sell quickly. I was excited to get that drone flying around the monkey rock, figured nobody had done that yet. That seat was now Daisy's, the girls all re-positioned, LOL.

Beautiful drone footage. We love the hill country. We go every year to celebrate our anniversary in Fredericksburg. Vanderpool is fairly close to Garner State Park which we truly enjoyed stopping at on the way back from Fredricksburg this past year. We will have to check out Lost Maples we’ve heard a lot about it. My husband is all about the pizza, but I’m liking the ham and cheese idea with the foil. 👍🏼

I was thinking it was me that was doing the electric wrong. We had never been this deep in the hill country before. Some of the roads felt like we were up in the rockies with tight turns on the edge of a big mountain. Thanks for watching.

This is the DJI Mavic Air 2 (there is a link in the description). It's a bit pricey, but the lesson to learn is, the cheaper they are, the harder to fly. The new DJI Mini 2 has 4k video now. That's probably the cheapest best route.

I have a question, if a few friends and I want to go hike there for a few hours, dL we have to set a reservation? I notice reservations are completely booked, but we just want to go hike for a few hours and then leave. We don’t mind paying, but we don’t want to make the 4 hour drive to be turned away
@TexasFamilyCamping4 жыл бұрын
So even before the whole virus lockdown, if you went to a popular park on the weekend, and didn't have reservations, you took a risk of getting turned away. Now that the lockdown has started, they limit the numbers of people they let in to a smaller group, and getting reservations has been even tougher. And trying to get into Lost Maples in the fall is going to be TOUGH. The best thing to do is plan ahead. You can get your day use reservations 1 month in advance. So, right now it's the 13th of October, so you can get your 13th November reservations (which is a Friday) tomorrow you could reserve Saturday November 14th. I believe it starts reservations at 9am CDT tomorrow morning for that Saturday.
@israelruelas57564 жыл бұрын
@@TexasFamilyCamping well Texas is open already, and covid is the least thing I’m worried about. I’ve been to other state parks before with no reservation and ha a never turned away, but I wanted to reserve this time around, but it has been booked for months now
@TexasFamilyCamping4 жыл бұрын
@@israelruelas5756 As much as I agree with you about covid.... You can't make a government entity bend to your will, it doesn't work very well. The State Parks are run by the state, and they are still at 50% capacity and enforcing masks.
