If the wound badge has a ww1 helmet with a swastika, the badge is probably from a Condor Legion veteran

I would keep every piece of man made item. Every bottle fragment, dish piece, etc. I would spend years cleaning and putting everything back together.

7:33 - probably a Sherman pin. Six wheels, low on the back on steep on the front. The German tank destruction badge had eight wheels.

Helmuth Günther Guddat Hübener was a German youth who was executed at age 17 by beheading for his opposition to the Nazi regime. He was the youngest person of the German resistance to Nazism to be sentenced to death by the Sondergericht People's Court and executed.

Maybe a stupid question, but how come you can find so many whw badges in one spot? Were they dumped or hidden in that specific spot or is it just commen to find so many in this area?

What is the law on detecting old battlefields ? I’m from England but would love to give it a go do you need permission from land owners only ?

In Germany it is forbidden to search in forests. I have already been sent away by a hunter once. If you have permission from, for example, a farmer to search in a meadow or field, then it is no problem.

This is the difference (problem?) between metal detectorists and archaeologists. There’s no explanation or interest in the context - it’s just “wow, check out this shiny thing!”
