Awesome video and a great surprise. After reading Under Pressure by Garth Locke I firmly believe we all should talk about the issues we encounter and the mistakes we made so others can learn and we can all be safer. The best teacher is experience, preferably someone else’s.

Hi guys my two favorite dive channels hooking up AWSOME ! the guy leading with the scooter must have a knife or something Pulling his compass if you were going in circles It was good on the boat You were the last guys in you remained calm while they were working the emergency Woody made a couple of points let the point guy do his thing and if a panicking diver isn't panicking he is drowning I liked the look on your face when you were out of air you exhaled and nothing came back ! (Reminds me of the old j valve days when the valve got accidently tripped and there was nothing ) Excellent video and informative it was pointed out when you are out of air dont panic you can still come up A while back I saw a video by gus and woodywith a rescue diver and he had to put weight on a body to get him out of a cave Here on the great lakes there is a shipwreck you go down thru the skylight of the engine room there is a pile of bones sitting by a chair It's been assumed by everybody the engineer was sitting in his chair when the ship sank after watching the video with gus and Woody that's not the case he would have been stuck to the ceiling and that is where he settled All you guys have a great day!

👍 So glad we could bring your two favorite dive channels together. We had a blast talking with Gus and Woody. Yeah, I was very surprised to run out of air in the shark cage. With all the redundancy they have built into the system it never occurred to me that running out of air was even a possibility. Just goes to show people you never really know. Equipment failure is a real thing and can happen anytime. I never had the pleasure of diving with a j valve, but now I can certainly relate.

Good question. It was fairly comfortable to ride once I got going, but it was a little crazy to try and control it on/off and adjust speeds. Mainly because I also had a camera in my hands. You can feel the water rushing by and there is a bit fo drag, but if I stayed level it felt pretty good. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍

Does that dive was in Agudilla in Crash boat? If is that site or El Natural those should have been an easy dive for a local...
@TritonsRealm
@TritonsRealm 2 жыл бұрын
😃 Yep, that’s El Natural. It should have been easy navigation, but once we left the reef behind we were going in circles and on a DPV we were covering some ground. Overall we were relatively safe the entire time, but we thought we’d include it in this video because getting lost under water is relatively common for newer divers. In the end, I was mainly just disappointed I didn’t get to see any of the pier there at crash boat beach as learning that site was my main motivation for diving there. But we’re going to try and make it back there in December or January. So we’ll have another shot at it.

@@TritonsRealm from there to the left side if you start fro the side of crashboat to the left side and you have the DPV you can hit El mueye de azucar that it has wreckage if the old machinery used by the Spanish to export sugar. 32:27 why do you have octo under your arm?
@TritonsRealm
@TritonsRealm 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! In this video my BCD is an AquaLung Dimension. The Dimension has a little pocket on the side to hold the octo. All you do is put a little bend in the hose and tuck the hose in the pocket so it’s secure, but it can also be easily and quickly taken out if needed. The end result however is that the octo kind of sits under or next to my arm. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@SFROutdoors
@SFROutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
@@TritonsRealm interesting, I as a newer diver have never seen that before. I wonder about the kinking of the hose and long-term durability, but it seems like it would make you more streamlined.
@TritonsRealm
@TritonsRealm 2 жыл бұрын
@@SFROutdoors The built in pocket works pretty nicely, and I don’t worry about doing any damage to the hose because we’re using Miflex hoses which are very flexible and durable. These days it seems like there are a 1000 ways to secure your octo. As long as the octo can be easily located, quickly released, and stored so it’s nice and streamlined, I think it comes to personal preference on how to secure it. Appreciate the comment, I think this is how we all learn from each other. 👍

Ok hookah diving? Surface air? Could y'all please explain what these two things mean⁹? Thanks 😁
@TritonsRealm
@TritonsRealm 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Hookah diving, also known as surfaced supplied air, is a type of diving where the air is delivered to someone underwater via a long hose from a compressor located on a float or, in this video, a boat on the surface of the water. This system does not require traditional scuba gear. It allows divers to stay underwater for long periods, and in many applications, does not require the person to be certified as a scuba diver. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and if you'd like to see more about our dive with great white sharks while using surface supplied air, you can check out the video below. Thanks again. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpKTgqOmn66UsKs

@TritonsRealm

Disagree with the message that it{s okay to go down without your buddy with 700 psi. Unnecessary risk, low biz, good surface conditions. What message are you sending to the newly certified divers. WRONG MESSAGE, not okay to separate from your buddy.
@TritonsRealm
@TritonsRealm 2 жыл бұрын
Great comment! The message to new divers is that sometimes the dive guide is wrong and that as a diver, you should be situationally aware and, if needed, self-reliant. In this particular case, the dive guide wanted to descend again to extend the dive as long as possible in the hopes of seeing part of the pier. However, after descending, he took off on the DPV in the wrong direction. This created an immediate choice for me. 1) Do I try to catch him in low visibility with only 700psi knowing he's headed in the wrong direction. 2) Do I go in the correct direction towards shallow water and shore alone. I opted for 2, and knowingly went in the opposite direction from the dive guide. The reasoning was threefold. One, I would personally be safe near shore. Two, I would be on the surface in shallow water and could spot him when he surfaced. Three, if he needed assistance, I could enlist help from others on the beach. Thanks for watching and commenting.
