LOST contains the best use of flashbacks I have ever seen in a show. This episode is masterfully crafted. Anna Lucia’s character is written as an irrational and unstable person. She treats everyone from our main group terribly, shoots and kills Shannon (which I have always believed was partially done due to the fear of what they went through on the island,) wastes valuable time Sawyer needs, (shout out to Mr. Eko,) and ties Sayid to a dang tree. *Then* you see her backstory, and for 90% of it your dislike is validated but in the very last minute, the writers drop a BOMB on the plot and they reveal the heartbreaking reason she acts the way she does.🤯 Then they show us all of the joyful reunions on the beach but cut to a final scene, where the reunion of Jack, Sayid, Shannon, and Anna Lucia is painful and joyless. I knew I could count on Shamonda to catch and remember the neighbors with the baby moving detail from the therapy session. It's rare to see someone put the whole episode together the way she did on the first watch-through.

In the other 48 days episode, Ana Lucia was always more interested in asking where the others took the kids, which makes sense. But to me, it's also sort of another hint at her previously lost motherhood.

This episode is so amazing. The reunions are beautiful. But that final scene is what gets me every time. Jack coming across Sayid carrying Shannon. Then looking to see Anna. There’s such a range of emotion there. And then that final wide shot of Jack and Anna... two leaders who have had two very different experiences on this island. Las they met, they shared a drink. And now.. he must be thinking... how did she get here? How did things go so horribly wrong.

Like probably everyone else I absolutely hated Ana Lucia the first time I saw her waving that gun around, not trusting anybody. Up until THAT scene where we learned why she is that way. Taught me a valuable lesson. Never assume. Don't judge. You don't know what a person has been going through. Brian from Hogwarts Reacts Channel has beautiful reaction up for this episode.

Yep I adore Ana Lucia! People always just call her a b****, and over look the tragedies that she has endured off island and on the island. All of which explain her whole character and why she is the way she is.

I've left a similar comment on other Lost reactions but - when Ana Lucia and Jack met at the airport bar, Ana Lucia jokingly asked Jack if he wanted to switch plane seats. What might have happened if they did switch seats - Jack with the Tailies and Ana Lucia with the main group? Interesting...

7:42 - Remember how Sun and Jin were at the beginning of the show? I really love their story - how their marriage was on the verge of ending before the crash, but they "found each other" and fell back in love on the island.

I have watched this episode on my own and with other reactors. Beautifully written from beginning to end. It's insane how quickly Ana Lucia goes from being an erratic trigger-happy psycho to a devastated mother with trust issues and PTSD. I would probably be lose my mind if I lost one of my children. It's almost as if Sayid and Ana were put together by a higher power so they could help one another heal in a weird way

This was a great episode. For me one of the most important characters in the show is the score. It really takes you through a scene and often puts you on the edge of your seat. Loved the reactions. Thanks guys

I had been waiting for this episode since you started Season 2. Always brings the tears of both joy and sorrow. The Michael/Vincent reunion is where it starts; but the Rose/Bernard reunion is one of the never-fail moments of this show; and then they throw you Sun/Jin coming back together. Then the devastating Sayid/Shannon ending. Top it off with that incredible musical score, and I can't help but cry every time.

Imagine being pregnant with a baby, have it killed from a job related incident. Now every time she probably thinks about or hears a baby it takes her back to that day. That's textbook PTSD. She's always on edge but it's not her fault, plus she's a cop so she's already got that mindset. A well-written character.

I really love this episode too !!!! I love the way it is written, the way it has been filmed, the musics, oh girl, it is so emotional and beautiful !!!! I love it sooooo much !!!! And Ana Lucia is an absolutely fabulous character !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That episode is one of the best of the show, and they're all terrific !!!!! I loved the first season, but from season 2, the show started to really taking off !!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ This episode (as much as "The Other 48 Days") really strongly shows us Lost is a must-watch

Lost is the best at reunions! I just noticed how like when Aaron was born, Boone died, Bernard and Rose, Sun and Jin and Kate with Sawyer have a big emotional reunion, Sayid and Shannon were tragically separated... the island gives but wants something in return... 14:10 "They were both feeling the same way." Exactly. That's why they spared each other essentially. Once they both calmed down after the intial shooting they knew themselves to be destroyed from the inside and saw no point another senseless killing. Now that's sad. Have a good day folks!

The episode was great. But Ana Lucia is & will be one of the most annoying character of lost for me and many! And exactly nobody new she was pregnant neither did the guy who shot her this doesn't mean he didn't deserve to die but still he didn't knew.. So I'll give him that!
