I once lost one at foxton beach a few years back, don’t know what was hooked on it but the winch couldn’t pull it so we had about 20 people helping us and it eventually snapped off

Why I never bought one , having a $3k kit 1 km offshore tied to a thin piece of mono when theres so many Bronzies around just didn't sound like a good idea to me .

I think it's only like a 180kg nylon holding it. It needs to be at least double that but then you'll need a bigger reel. Drones are the go these days.

have done kite fishing for over 25 years and lost around 7 kites for various reasons the main one being Bronzies , with the kites though its like only $350 loss . The worst thing with the kite though is checking all the weather maps and all other info on wind conditions - then traveling 80k to find the wind blowing in your face when you get there . The main line is 120kg and regarded as heavey for a kite .

It's a torpedo system to take out a 25 hook line from the beach.

A plastic shaped torpedo with batteries in side powered with an electric motor much the same as the weedless in your vid - connect it to some heavey mono - slap on 25 hooks - send it out 800 to 2000 mtrs - wait 45 minutes - reel it in .

Bugger, I almost lost mine first time out, got stuck on a pipe lol. Took me and a mate a couple of hours to pull it in, and it had a 10.5kg snapper on a hook.
