This literally reminds me of the last time I ever saw my Dad. Right before he died he was unconscious in the hospital and when I was alone with him I sang him a song just like his beloved mother did for him. I felt just like Rin. Devastated but felt a warm glow in heart

I think one of my favorite moments was when Rin slapped that evil general when he tried to guilt trip her again. I think it shows great growth from her part, since people her age have difficulties understanding when life strikes at them, it doesn't mean they were at fault. But I am concerned for the time she spent in those dream induced memories. Since it was trying to break her the same way Finis was broken, I imagine the equivalent to her time there was similar to Finis's curse. If she is reborn as Finis's daughter, I hope she doesn't face pain that big again.

I still don't understand if Al's feelings for Rin count as incest, or if Allu's sister had self-harm issues.

Technically yes? It's basically the "not blood related" scenario, but they were raised as brother and sister so. Not sure about self harm, I never noticed it when I watched if that was a thing

@@Squ_iddy during one of the final episodes, the girl had Al's toy dog bite her, in an attempt to overcome her fear of the world (her hoodie represents her cocoon). It hurted her, but she still smiled at the fact she did not fall asleep, or retracted back to her hoodie. That way of overcoming her limitations looks to me she may have had some of those thoughts for a while to feel alive, but repressed them out of fear.

@@mayabaroudi3814 it's called "Lost Song", but I feel like the plot is better experienced without prior knowledge. All I can tell you is, pay attention to Leobolt. He and his innacuracies provide clues on what's really going on between Finnis, and her "daughter" Rin.

I watched this anime as soon as it came out and I loved it so much. People would ask me for recommendations about watching a good anime, I would say "Lost Song" they would say "it sounds like a girly anime" so what if it is?! It was so fucking good. I love it so much

I don't think it's girly? But whoever is using that as a reason not to watch an anime needs to expand their horizons! Just look at Sailor Moon, I know lots of guys who love it despite it being considered a "girly anime"

To anyone calling this a girly anime, you just haven't watched it. One episode it's a semi happy singing anime balanced out well with the seriousness of war and some political drama, the next it's total Armageddon, then the episode after that you're semi back to how it was before

I love how the series melds different timelines together. In the beginning it feels like it’s jumping from place to place but as you continue it all starts to make sense. Honestly a great show that really gets you thinking. The ups and downs as well as the bone chilling moments are all awesome. It ended on a perfect note honestly.

Ok, I finished watching the anime. Very beautiful and underrated, but the ending was indeed rushed. 20 episodes or more would have been a preferable structure. But I was left with two doubts: -Do Al's feelings for Rin count as incest ? -Does Allu's younger sister have self-harm issues along with her mutated sleep disease ? Her thing of letting the dog bite her in order to try and accept the world's danger is extremely similar to a cutter who does it to remind themselves they're alive.

Am I the only one who thinks "Omori" would crossover perfectly with this series ? I do, which is why I have a fanfic about it. Its name is "Omori: Lost Song of Healing" (it has cameos to other songs and singers, such as Ariana Grande's "One Last Time").

I wouldn't have minded getting more info on the previous loops and the incarnations of the characters in them. Who knows ? Maybe some of them got a "One Last Time" moment in those loops. Would be a beautiful, even if sad, way to go.

Why didn't she heal Mel ? It wasn't hard to interrupt her talking. Also, I can see the boy blames her a bit. He didn't hug her when she kneeled crying after all.

She didn't heal Mel because she has to sing to heal her but she was crying and was overwhelmed and couldn't control her emotions during the time. There was too many going on at once for her to focus on singing. I don't blame her. She's young and innocent, I don't blame her for being in a state of shocking that she can't focus on singing due to hyperventing due to the heavy emotions. Singing takes focus and concentration. Due her witness all that destruction and death for the first time in her life, she didn't know how to process it. So I don't blame her being overwhelmed with emotions due to her being so young and not used to stuff like that happening.

@@JabamiLain i know this is old but i have to say, you can see her trying, as said this is a ton of emotions running through her and she couldn't focus properly to sing. but like i said you can see her trying, she was gasping for air to try to sing but couldnt.
