The ranking system is insanely generous and the enemies could use some more aggression, but overall, the combat's looking as fun as ever; being able to move quickly during combat is something I wish more action games would allow, so it's good to see that here. While the platforming is basic (another weakness of action games), at least there appears to be some effort in mixing things up here. Getting sick and tired of the crawling through cracks and such, but I guess we'll just have to accept that as part of modern game design. If the story is actually good, that's going to be a pleasant surprise, so I do hope for that. There's actually potential here for this to be amongst the heavyweights in 2024.

It's likely the Dev build. Similar with Dark Souls or Elden Ring. Enemy aggression is turned way down. Usually, the HP of them is next to nothing or higher than normal, just punching bags to show off for a trailer

@@uchennaobi5985 At an event held by Sony. Sony told reporters that the game will be released in the second quarter of 2024. I went to Chinajoy and I asked the game staff. The game is basically 90% done. They need 3 months to fix bugs. 3 months to optimize the game. If there is no accident, the game will be released in April 2024. They released a video of their collaboration with NVIDIA. They also announced that it will be coming to PC.

@@uchennaobi5985 They're quoting old news for Sony -- back in Nov 2022, Sony announced an "early 2024" release. But since Sony's original release window for this game was 2018, I think we can safely assume this game is still a 2024-2026 release. No idea about the "Staff say" quote. I follow this game pretty closely, and have never seen such a thing. Maybe there's an interview in Chinese (which I can't read) that was the source of OP's claim.

This looks so good, and finally looks polished and playable. But I gotta say after all these years to see that this is still the only section of the game they are willing to show off is ver very concerning… I have legit seen this same section of gameplay probably 2 dozen times over the 4-5 years or so and I still till this day am concerned that this isint a complete game, but a big tech demo

Yeah I feel like it is awesome how it is but I definitely wouldn't have been against all Eikons having different basic attacks and basic attack combos, and directional inputs for all the Eikonic abilities to make them have more properties.

However, that doesn't mean FF has to copy or become so similar to another thing that it's indistinguishable. This game has clearly been inspired by other games, excluding anything FF or SE related

I gotta say, the sound fx need some/a lot of work. A lot of the attacks and jumps leave no audible impact, it mostly sounds quiet and week. Some attacks and moves don't even make a sound (especially during the hoverboard sequence). There also seems to be a sound delay (possibly a ChinaJoy issue?) Hopefully that's the final touch before release, because I really like what I see.

The ONLY thing i have a problem with is that the random mob/enemy setup is like a typicsl Chinese mobile game. You go into an area and then a few enemies spawn. They wait around for you to attack and show no real agression other than following you. Then as they are easily beat, you run for a while into another open space where it just repeats itself. This isn't a mobile game, don't treat it like one.

nice, I like the cs and that thing that turns into weapons and means of locomotion, majestic settings, and I noticed that to eliminate the bosses you have to make the pv bar go down to zero before the yellow bar regenerates them

This isn't a "triple a" game. It's an *indie* game that received support from Sony because they saw potential. Indie games have less funds and much smaller teams. So bigger companies like Square Enix or Capcom might be able to squeeze out games within 3-5 years, it can take indie developers an extra few years because of their limitations.
