It was only associated with one royal in one generation.. Beautiful but not so valued as older tiaras. Some of Prince Albert's creations for Queen Victoria went to the Fifes who have loaned at least one tiara for publix exhibition. Others were sold by Pss Victoria of Wales and have disappeared from public view. All the stolen tiaras - the Northumberland, the Portland, Queen Maud's pearl tiara and Pss Christina's tiara - are truly lost

NOT Lost...Sold and other than the fact princess Margaret bought herself a Tiara Bigger than her Sisters The Queen..it had no reason to be saved

It is the Poltimore which has a design that I think is still good enough for the current British royal ladies or present fashion trend. The design is simply classic. How I wish to see it worn by Princess Kate or Princess Charlotte in the future.

Drink every time you hear the word Adorned! Also don't really know if I would believe a thief who says he tossed the tiara into the river. Guessing he really broke it up and sold it. And selling a tiara because you need to fund a hospital for wounded soldiers isn't "Unfortunate". It is EXTREMELY fortunate for the soldiers...

Ah, the Belgian Cartier drama, still a tragedy LB sold it. The royal family was in shock when it happend, they didn't even get a chance to try to buy it. King Boudewijn of Belgium and certainly Grand Dutches Josephine Charlotte of Luxemburg, as grand children of queen Elisabeth, should have had the opportunity and would have had the funds to acquire it.

All these videos remind me that having a title & property doesn't mean you're rich or even well off. It's sad that people have to sell off heirlooms because of taxes. That's insane.Most royals get around that by leaving jewels to the crown/state.

It's also sad when the children inherit their families fortune and beautiful Estates ,family tiaras and other fine jewls that have been in the same family for centuries up until little Jonny or little suzie inherit their families heirlooms and property and once they get their hands on the family fortune and properties they decide they no longer want to preserve their ancestral manor house or have any interest in the family heirlooms they inherited so they sale their ancestral homes off to some rich tycoon and auction off the family tiaras and jewls . And choose modern dwellings and fashion ending their families legacy. And their future children and grandchildren and so fourth will always feel like their father or mother took away the things that should of been their birthright to inherit 😢😢😢😢

You should have discussed Queen Marie of Romania's lost jewels, send to Russia during WW1 for safekeeping and never retrieved. It also included a tiara she received as a wedding gift from her father, Alfred Duke of Edinburgh, later Duke of Saxe Coburg Gotha.

"She adorned it" makes no sense - you mean she WORE it. A tiara is NOT a diadem - the two are different things: a tiara has an open back, a diadem is a complete circle.

Think of the word “adorn” as a synonym for decorate. The princess did not adorn the tiara. She used the tiara to adorn herself. Also just like utilize is an affectation when substituted for use as they both mean the same thing, so gifted is grating and pretentious when substituted for gave or given. Plus, it sounds awkward and weird.

@@jodieyoung1960 @noelleinerenwick You are correct but she is properly called Queen Camilla. Official title is Queen Consort. If you are alluding to the fact you don’t like Camilla or you think Diana should be Queen Consort then that is something different entirely.

Meg used a copy of the original. The Queen knew better than to give her the real one. Just like Diana’s watch it’s a copy of the real one. The family knew better.

The Harewood tiara showed how a brooch can be harmoniously integrated into a tiara. Compare this to the tiara worn by Meghan Markle when she married Prince Harry. This tiara (Queen Mary' bandeau, I think it was) also had a brooch as its central element, but the brooch was too small to fit the opening designed for it. What's more, the brooch and the tiara were of glaringly disparate styles. It looked like the tiara proper was first designed with no particular central element in mind, and then they foraged around in the royal family's jewellery box for something, anything, that might kind of fit. Regardless of that tiara's artistic merit, it's a safe bet it won't soon come out of the royal vault. Maybe even never.

About Maria Alexandrovna's fringe tiara, in the paintings by Lazlo is Queen Maria of Romania, not Maria aka Mignon, later Queen of Yugoslavia.

I believe if was Queen Marie of Romania that bequeathed that tiara to her daughter Maria aka Mignon, queen of Yugoslavia. Both seem to have been depicted with that tiara.

You're wrong. Her name was Mary of Teck. Queen Mary of Teck is a perfectly correct and traditional way of referring to her. It doesn't mean Mary, Queen of Teck. It's all very subtle.
