The thing that made me recover and lose 30kg is just increase protein intake, does not matter if you are gonna eat meat or oats or even fast food, as long as you fill at least 30% of your calories with protein you wont be able to be fat, protein makes you full and makes you not overeat, i think our stomach cannot detect carbohydrates properly so you can eat until sick I lost weight by being more idle than usual just by changing the food i eat, and then became much more active physically because i actually felt good again

I recently finished reading (listening to, actually) "Atomic Habits". When you mentioned "placing emphasis on these easy to do, easy to implement routines that will change your life over time and just trust the process" it reminded me of one of his key points. He talks about having "systems" instead of "goals", and his systems are those routines you mentioned. He also talks about how those small things, done consistently, compound over time. As a former accountant, I understand the value of compounding, from a financial perspective. I hadn't really thought about using it in other areas of my life. I'm sure you don't want to read a self-help book, but it also sounds like you don't NEED to. But you might like Atomic Habits, as you already seem to have figured out similar things.

Actually that book has been on my list for a while! Where did you get the audiobook? Might be cool 😃

Thanks for sharing this, even though my issue at the moment is different I can relate and this video has made me feel a bit better about myself at the moment and what I am doing to work on it. (Love the Rat Experiment, heard that one a long time ago and really relate to it)
@UndineAlmani8 ай бұрын
The rat park experiment is so epic imo! And I feel that a lot too. The whole understanding of addiction in our society is so crazy and attached to all sorts of values, emotions and judgements... Whatever you're working on, good luck with it! :-)

Love your videos, - they're a little hard to hear though as your mic is so far away. Maybe a clip-on might help?
@UndineAlmani8 ай бұрын
Are you listening on headphones or speaker? Cause I actually do them all using a special mic. Lapel isn't that great for me, I hate the look and I always forget it and then rip my clothes... do you think it is not as loud as other videos? Hard for me to tell actually...
@kietzi6 ай бұрын
i had no Problems with speakers. The defocused image was more confusing 😅

Oh, an english video! A little rest for my zero-deutsch brain ❤ By the way, do you have a new lens? Those close-up bokeh effect vibes feel cool!

That was another lens I accidentally left on lol :D It was the 50 mm one, I never use it...

Correction *lose the fat and keep it off* you still need muscle iv went on a 1 year diet and turned from morbidly obese to skinny however i felt weak all day i had no muscle i looked like a twig and was obviously unhealthy and so i went on a proper diet i built some muscle and gained a healthy ammount of fat and now i feel better all together
@UndineAlmani8 ай бұрын
Actually, fat loss correlates very much with weight loss and the "muscle loss thing" is a cliché. I guess it stems from bodybuilding communities, where this is an issue, because they have excess muscle. But if you have excess fat, actually it just goes away with the weight los, correlated almost to the full (80-90% achievable without exercising extensively). In my case, I recently tested this again (like half a year ago) for this exact measurement, and found that I would lose 3.5kg of pure fat, while losing only about 200g of muscle mass. However, that was excess muscle for my body type, and I ended up with a higher overall muscle mass percentage than before (since I was lighter), which goes to body composition. So that "omg I will lose all my muscle" fear imo is a bit far-fetched, when you actually look at your body. I look in the mirror and I see that I am way fitter and more defined. But I do think that if you just stop eating (especially some unhealthy high kcal deficit crash diet), you may lose muscle along the way and not lose enough fat to justify it. But that's not a diet I'd ever promote. It's just really important to me to say that in the general case (average person, no body builder, no marathoner etc.) the fat loss and weight loss are so well-correlated, that it's basically the same. But if you like the word "fat loss" better that's fine. The correlation however is so crazy, I find it worth mentioning (esp. since I didn't believe it until I measured it in myself... additionally I had no strength loss too, which underlines the measured muscle conservation).

I think many of us in the health field still find BMI useful -- but as a starting point. For example if I have a patient coming to see me with a BMI of 11 or 40 then I know that's unusual and I want to know more. BMI says nothing about health, and (I hope) we know that 🙂
@UndineAlmani8 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's really annoying that people don't use it like that and then check out WTH or some.real metric and labs... I don't think everybody knows. Especially in ED clinics, BMI is everything and it makes me really mad tbh

Best way to lose weight is falling into depression and therefore not wanting to eat.. yea and maybe doing some research about food and calories. That helped me :)
@UndineAlmani8 ай бұрын
I do not recommend that but it's kinda true lol
