I played this at least 15 years ago back when i was a “goa” dj (from a mini disc, mind you) at a party in Cesky Krumlov at an ultra idyllic location over looking this beautiful 700year old village at sunrise on a hot summers morning. Wow, still gives me goosebumps.

The only Goa trance track that never got out of my head. It has been somewhere between five and ten years since I heard it last time... I wonder what makes this track so special to me? Somehow, the sounds are all very homogenic, and the (slow) tempo matches the gloomy atmosphere perfectly. Original stuff & a true classic.

First time I heard this was on Trance Nation CD2 by Jimmy Van M. I thought to myslef what the hell style of trance was this. Then, I was infected with Goa Trance. I have TOTAL respect for Goa labels like Flying Rhino. I recently purchased this as 2x12 vinyl and must mention that the Cass/Slide remix is worth searching. I never realized that Flying Rhino was a most respected label for classic progressive DJ's and fans.Their entire catologue is incredibe...especially their ambient music

Probably an old discussion but, as you said this wasn't appriciated by the old schoolers. This was in the same era as Son Kite and others that produced a more minimal style in contrast to the melodic goa trance. I would call this "post-old school", and the earlier melodic music for "pre-minimal".
